I think you have an AGM with some experience that is close to the organization who came from the Buffalo tree.  Throw in the hard worker and obvious knowledge of the game and he is a pretty good candidate.  I think we also have some PTSD from out last AGM that left (Beane).  I'm not saying I'm die hard for Morgan, but I think he could be a good candidate.

What you say makes sense.

I guess I could google some articles about Beanes time here in Charlotte but there were tangible reasons he was well liked.  There were receipts to his work and that was why people were pissed when he left.

Beane hired him on as Director of Player Personnel in 2018 in Buffalo for 3 years before we signed him as an Assistant in 2021.  If he learned anything from Beane about building a roster he is worth it, plus there is obvious Panthers familiarity.

That's not where he got his start.

Look again.

While you're at it, look up who he credits for teaching him how to scout players.

He overpaid for Darnold in spades, and as it stands today you could argue the same for Baker.  Dude is absolutely horrible and is showing why he was so "cheap" and literally no other team wanted him.

Making mistakes at QB makes you look horrible, but it doesn’t make it true that you are.

Also you are assuming who made the decisions. We just don’t know for sure.

We know for a fact he handled the trade compensation for both.

Sam overpay (everyone thought JeTs SuCk SaM mAyBe OkAy…but our coaching sucks too).

Baker not an overpay.

CJ, eye of the beholder.

Most importantly though; you hold the premise that our roster is weak. I don’t hold that premise. I know this from prior discussions with you.

Therefore we naturally would have differing opinions on a GM/AGM, QB issues aside.

We both agree our QB’s suck. You see garbage QB’s with a roster you don’t like. I see garbage QB’s with a roster I do like (not implying it’s perfect though).

He is literally the worst qb in the nfl, its an absolute overpay especially considering nobody else wanted him and they were going to have to cut him

As to the roster I feel its mid to bottom in the nfl.  We need either 1 kick ass draft or 2 average to build some nice depth.

What is our strongest position group and then where does that group rank in the nfl?  Then do our 2nd strongest and I think you will see why i think our roster isnt as strong as some of you think

I think the GM should go with Rhule.   I think In large part they should always come and go together.  Tepper fugged up keeping Marty.   Right the ship.

Fit’s hand was in Sam, the 5th year option, Robbie extension, Baker and all the real messes.  The real clusterfug started once Fit and Rhule got paired.  He gets a pass on it all from a lot.

Who Beane?  He credits Hurney for his success....  So we kept Hurney and the Bills took our well liked AGM.  Hopefully we can learn from a little history.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
