Stroud is a one trick pony... he can throw the ball...with a good pocket ...thats it...hes slow...he can't run....consistent poor decisions in the passing game.....hes a total bust in the NFL.. Praying bonehead isnt enamored with him like Fields.  If we pick Stroud...i'm prolly gonna get kicked off the Huddle..

Not sure where you are getting the idea that he makes poor decisions in the passing game… that’s inaccurate. Within the concept of the called play, his interception % was 1%… the lowest in college football… his well thrown percentage and his passing efficiency are each in the top 10.

He struggles when the play breaks down a bit but so do all college QB’s.

Every QB in this class has some sort of flaw so it’s going to be more about what these QB’s can do than what they can’t do.

You see something different than me....yes... qb's have some sort of flaw...be he has the most...hes' bailed out by the OSU system....hes a true bust...i might feel different if he had some guts...

You see something different than what the numbers say…

The numbers say that he does struggle under pressure… as you mentioned… his interception% jumps to 5% when he’s under pressure and his completion percentage hovers around 50% when he’s under pressure.

I won’t deny that, that’s something that he’ll need correct at the next level.

However, from a pure thrower of the football. Within the realm and the scheme of the play, there’s not a better passer of the football. His passer rating, passing efficiency, adjusted completion percentage, well thrown percentage, his interception %, etc… all within what is considered the realm of the actual play (meaning clean pocket, no breakdowns, etc.) are the best in college football.

    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
