Only because we try to avoid putting him under pressure.  We punted from field goal range last week.

I watched the Bengals kicker missed extra points and OT FGs against the Steelers earlier this year and he is legit. Sometimes it’s just shitty luck.

It truly didn't matter. Eddie would have missed the XP from the one. Classic choke.

Ok, if you think that a standard PAT has the same amount of pressure as  *essentially* a FG, then you've never kicked.  I have.  It went from business as usual to a freaking pressure cooker.

He has been fine all season. There was no reason to be concerned with him kicking from the 15 yard line. The Huddle was singing his praises early in the season “Rhule can find a kicker if nothing else.” Also I’m pretty sure Gonzalez was signed midseason off another team’s practice squad and he has been fine. No team wanted him either.

I am kind of surprised you are fighting tooth and nail to defend the kicker immediately after a game where he had 2 chances in FG range to win the game.

Good kickers make the kick with the game on the line.

This one missed two in the same game.

I don't care if he hit all 3 PAT's last week.

He is not a good kicker, despite how well he hits PATs.

Good kickers are clutch.   Pinerio was not today.

So you want to keep Pinerio over Gonzalez?  WTF?

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
