This does too...

Yeah Irsay basically blamed the whole thing on Luck retiring while explaining why he fired Reich. And said other weird poo about sausage and sleep apnea. If he came into my bar while I was working I wouldn't serve him out of suspicion alone, he's obviously not mentally well but has so much money no one is willing to step in and have him get actual help

I'm 100% behind hiring Frank Reich as the next head coach. He got a raw deal in Indianapolis. Carson Wentz blows and Matt Ryan was clearly washed. My only concern was how much of their success under Reich was attributed to Eberflus running a badass defense. They fell off hard after he left.

Also I think I saw somewhere that Reich and his family live in NC.

Reich lived in Charlotte for a period of time before going back to the NFL as a coach. His kids are still here.

He also played for the Panthers as a QB and I believe he threw the first TD pass in franchise history in 95.

“Frank Reich, come on down!”

Bonus pie to any of the youngsters who even recognize the cultural reference.  And if you question whether pie is enough reward, yes, the price is right.

Just appears to be a once good HC that got old and stagnant by NFL standards. I wouldn't discount this as Ballard's time to prove he should stay after the moves they have made recently.

Luck’s timing to quit football in August vs at his last game of the season, hurt his  franchise and Reich

getting a qb is something that has to be planned for and it seldom is even,  when teams have time to prepare

and because they don’t, the franchise gets crippled

Carolina has been mediocre because of this throughout its history,  same mistake over and over again   Qb doesn't pan out or is broke down, Carolina always waited too long to address it … just a’wishin and a’hopin that Jake’s elbow and Cam’s shoulder wouldn’t be shot and Collins wasn’t a drunk and Weinke would be something he could athletically never be

New Orleans is in the same place now  so is Tampa when Brady goes and Rivera reaching for Wentz with the Commanders

nfl teams should be like British royalty, a heir and hopefully a spare

don’t have a Qb?  It becomes the coach’s fault, right or wrong

I said it when Rhule passed on Fields or a damned CB, in the NFL, if you ain’t got a QB, you ain’t got nothing.

Said Qb has to at least be threatening with something,  be it arm, legs or a quick read brain

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
