Panthers dealing with old demons

I wanted to make a thread to highlight some of the recent accomplishments of this team. I think most everyone has been impressed with Wilks performance so far, but it's more than just having us in the playoff conversation. Here are a few trends we have bucked since he took over, but I'm sure there are others I've missed so feel free to add any other trends you've seen reverse course recently.

1)we finally got a win over Brady in a BUCS uniform. We took him back to .500 all time in our house

2) We have defended the bank, we have a three game home winning streak and have won all our divisional home games. When building a winning culture you start here and Wilks is undefeated at home

3) We beat Russel Wilson, and the Seahawks...AND the broncos. I don't have to explain to most of you how much we've struggled vs seattle in the past. Going in there and winning a game was a huge statement win by this team. Beating them and the Broncos feels cathartic, old demons put to rest

4)We won a game yesterday despite allowing more than 17 points, another trend put to rest hopefully

5)We played the best first quarter in a long long time yesterday. All three phases were hitting and Seattle was not ready.

6)We are getting hot at the right time. Did either of the first two Rhule seasons have more than 1 or 2 wins after the halfway point in the season? We're back to being a November/December team

But the most important thing isn't a stat you can point to. It isn't a specific player, or even the win loss column. The most important thing is that yesterday that team embodied Keep Pounding. It wasn't just a mantra written on the jersey, it was a spirit you could feel on every run play. That last TD drive we could not be stopped, and that's the kind of energy you need this time of year.

If Wilks keeps them playing like this we are NOT a team you want to come play against in the playoffs.

You did forget 1. That win yesterday pretty much put a nail in the tank coffin.

But yeah, what we saw yesterday was classic Playoff Football. Been a while since we've seen such good all-around play. Proud of the team, and Wilks.

I will add. Penalties. We have got to get those under control.

    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
