Looks great, doesn't he?

Now put him in Jacksonville.  Or here.  Or New Orleans.

As others have said, he looks great, and he's doing a good job, BUT he's in the most QB friendly system ever.  When you have an elite play calling HC (Shanahan, McVey, Reid), they can make nearly anyone look good.

Purdy is playing well, within the system, but so far he hasn't had to go toe to toe with a rip roaring NFL team.  Can he go drive for drive with any of the best offenses in the NFL?  Not yet.  I will also say his outside throw float so I don't think he's got particularly good arm strength.

His situation is e’rything. Coach, OL , defense, even CMC set him up for success… sure we coulda had him, but without the feast around him, Mr.Irrevelant is just that…

or, I’m wrong…,

initially that's what i was thinking...situation is everything.

but you watch him and the guy is smart, he's reading the defense, and he's making poo happen when things start to fall apart. of course things don't fall apart too often with that offense, but still when you watch him throughout the course of the game he doesn't look like some guy that's a rookie who was nearly undrafted playing in his second start. i mean the excitement between and after plays and scores is definitely there, but when he's in action the guy just looks

for sure it's an ideal situation, but to me he looks better than Trey Lance ever did in that offense. looks better than Jimmy G, too.

it could just be that purdy is one of a bunch of good QBs over the years that fell through the cracks.

That's about when Kyle Allen got figured out.

There is a big difference between Purdy and Allen.

What Purdy has shown is that game experience in college matters. 4 year starter, comes in and plays like a veteran. Who knew?

Yet people want us to draft Anthony Richardson who has played one full season and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with the ball. If we draft him, it better be a tight end conversion project.

Otherwise, take Michael Meyer of Notre Dame and Jalyn Hyatt of Tennessee and call it a day 1 and 2. Roll with Corral and Darnold.

Guys...calm the fug down. It's a Kyle Shanahan led OFFENSE. Like calm your tits.

And with McCaffrey in for 90% of their offensive snaps. I remember a certain 3 game stretch where Darnold was being hailed a rousing success under such circumstances.

Frank, you make some good comments, but this one is dumb.

Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, and even our very own Jake Delhomme (though less accomplished than the other two) are instances of guys "coming out of nowhere" and succeeding. Now I'm not saying that Purdy is in that conversation, because his body of work is just starting, but he is off to a good start.

Not saying he's in the conversation but let's throw him in there anyways after just 3 starts? Go easy throwing around the word dumb my guy.

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
