Panthers need to win against the Bucs so naturally they will lay the biggest egg we’ve ever seen, and I think we all know that even if the game is close, the NFL will definitely not allow the Panthers to win.

Then once all hope is lost, the Bucs have clinched the division, the Panthers have 0 playoff chances, they will blow out the Saints in the final game just because who f*cking cares let’s drop 10 draft spots.

If you want to be so fatalistic. I’d say it’s the other way around.

Because I want to be Mr. Optimist here, I'm going to say that they find a way to somehow..some way....beat both the Bucs AND the refs next week.

Then using that momentum, they go up to New Orleans the following week and escape with a nail-biter-of-a-win(game winning FG) to get into the Playoffs.

Based in the recent patterns of all three squads, defense & offense, the Panthers can win both games if [a big IF], they continue to not turn the ball over. Both Tampa & New Orleans have been giving the ball up lately & have been weak versus a good power run/QB managed game.  One can always hope.

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
