Ben Johnson vs Shane Steichen

Recommended Posts

Steichen + Brian Johnson makes me happy. I don't know who Johnson would bring from Motown, but I'm confident that Brian Johnson will be a HC very, very soon as well.

Draft Darnold someone like Johnston or Mayer in that offensive scheme and I think we are playoff ready year 1 of the new regime.

Johnston-DJ-TMJ-Shenault is a nasty foursome.

Johnson might bring Mark Brunell.

Brian Johnson has never even called plays.

God im tired of hearing about Carolina roots.  WTF cares where they're from.  I don't give half a hot poo if Wilks is from Charlotte or that Tepper is a yankee or where anyone is from.  fug all that noise.  All I care about is who does the best job.  If they also happen to be from the Carolinas, I still don't give half a lame, blind and deaf dog's turd pile.

I hope they have a clear plan about what they would do as a head coach. Many candidates have books they keep just for when they get an opportunity. What they did as coordinators means nothing given the head coach job is totally different from a coordinator and neither have had any head coaching experience at any level. For that matter johnson has been a coordinator for 1 year. What makes them head coach ready? They better be impressive. Doubt Tepper brings in another guy with no head coach experience.

I fully believe if it’s not Wilks it’s gonna be someone like Reich, Quinn (meh), or the Hail Mary known as Harbaugh.

There is really no telling with this owner. He was duped by Hurney, then he was duped by Rhule more than once.

I genuinely hope he stays as far away from the decision process as possible. If not, we might be royally fuged.

It's all about learning which firing Rhule was step 1. There were people here that were hell bent that Dave would keep Rhule for the season or be here for seven years.

We've since learned from behind the scenes chronicles of Rhule's tenure that the relationship between he and Tepper actually soured pretty quickly.

I:ve called Tepper "football stupid" before. Objectively speaking, I don't necessarily believe he's stupid. I do believe he's nowhere near as football smart as he thought he was.

The biggest question for me this offseason is whether he understands that now.

There are at least some indications that he does.

    • Just like WR, you thin ignite and then suffer an injury and you are scrambling.  Any RB could have run through some of those those holes though and maybe you don’t get the same xtra yards but you are getting yardage.  It is the pass catching they will miss the most.
    • Without Sanders, they are stil catching balls. Sanders is about a giveaway to it will be a pass play.   Also, hoping we see the competition at RB keep both guys on their toes.
    • I was talking about pre season hype vs now.  They were talking about him being the best route runner on the team and being unguardable.  Putting people in the blender.  He has had 1 catch the last two games, and before that it was 2 per game. I like Renfrow, but it seems him and Bryce are not on the same page.
