His second team was the Patriots and he took them to a superbowl but lost, then went to the Jets and turned them around as well.

The returns just kept diminishing.

And again, Parcells Is a guy who insisted on having full control, just as Peyton would. Yet the only team he actually won a Super Bowl with was the one where he didn't have it.

These former, already seasoned head coaches are plug and play. They don't need to assemble an experienced staff because they already have the contacts, guys who want to work them.

It's not a guy "trying to figure it out". They've already figured it out. They're coming to install their already proven systems.

We know your affinity for the "new hot" but if your OC doesn't prove to be a good head executive you've just set the team back AGAIN and your top players and free agents won't take us seriously.

Harbaugh, Payton, Reich give us instant leadership and head management acumen which we can't assume a fresh OC/DC may/may not have. Crap shoot. We can't afford that being so close to bottom feeder territory due to prior mistakes.

Harbaugh 2023

Ppl don’t realize the adjustment and learning period for new head coaches “normally “ can be a couple years..

how to run practice assembly a staff game time decision are all learning curb items..

That you won’t have to deal with when your coach has already went thru that..

not to mention the relationship and network they have with other experienced coaches they can bring in day 1 on staff..

Mr. Scot, it would save all of us a lot of time if you simply stated you don't like Payton. Instead of arguing in circles, or coming up with some way anything positive said about Payton has a fault to it lol.

I don't like him, but that's not why I wouldn't want him hired.

I don't like what we'd have to give up for him.

I don't like that he'd want full control.

I don't like the idea of hiring a guy who was successful elsewhere and hoping that he has the same success in an entirely different system without the quarterback that helped make him.

And I don't like the idea of Tepper "swinging for the fences" again rather than taking a more measured approach.

That's my reasoning.

I need this to be very clear to Payton ppl here..

This is a he Saints plan to rebuild.. They’re whole thing to have a fast rebuild is using Payton levarge to get assets.. They are going to try a screw us even more..

Payton has the leverage. All he has to do is say take the deal or I’m going back to tv and you get nothing. Il come back when my deal expires.

I'll give you that, his staff in NY was an Allstar coaching staff too. He just hated the GM of the giants.

However any of those three situations would be a vast improvement from where the Panthers have been since 2018 or so.

I don’t know what Payton loyalties are.. Him and Loomis are close and if the 2 1st round things are true why wouldn’t he wait this out another year where they can’t asked for that level of compensation?? It obviously hurts the new team right?? And his abilities to get talent right??

Ok, fair.

But what if the team, hopefully employed by men and women educated to be in that posotion, think Sean IS the answer? What if they think giving up assets is worth it, think full control is OK due to Payton's plan, think he will be successful, and believe in his plan for QB? Will you just call them idiots?

This is more a case that you're an armchair GM/HC type, like most of us here.

Not a Payton person, don't really care if its him but also wouldn't throw myself off of a bridge if we do hire him like others seem.  But you could play devil's advocate with this comment.  Perhaps we are using them to rebuild?  We are a competent coach and a couple of players away from dominating the south for years.  With the current players, if we had an above average coach we could have started that dynasty...this year!

My humble prediction, I may be as close to nailing it as Mel Kipers draft picks.

Houston: DeMeco Ryans

Denver: Sean Payton

Carolina: Shane Steichen

i see a slight possibility for Wilkes in Carolina, but I think Tepper is hell bent on offensive coach. I hope I’m wrong. Defense still wins championships. If Tepper moves off of Wilkes as HC I see him trying to offer him a position to placate the fanbase. Just my thoughts.

Can't stress those points enough.

They'd better damn well call Harbaugh and cover their ass because this Payton stuff doesn't seem sincere and IF Harbaugh is given the Panthers HC job the NFC will be in fear and whatever "rebuilding" New Orleans thought they'd be doing would be pounded into dust.

Harbaugh wants the Panthers HC job he has the best record college/NFL than any of the coaches in this cycle. It should have been his job the minute his people got in touch with US. Sincere.

A smart David Tepper would have stopped the "coaching search" at that very moment. Harbaughs credentials speak for themselves. Harbaughs results at all levels of the game is unmatched.

They desperately need Harbaugh in BofA to fix this franchise and it's something he WANTS to do. One of the best coaches in football who formerly wore a Panthers uniform wants to coach YOUR team.

Smh.

I think those guys are playing us. Laughing.
