It's Sean Payton's job if he wants it and it looks like he does. So... ehhh... coaching search went weird quick. I always thought it was Wilks or Johnson getting the job.

It’s not my first choice but I’d get excited pretty quickly about Sean Payton. Absolutely elite coach and also easy to forget how great he was at identifying talent in the draft. I have no doubt he’d have us winning games quickly

Sean Payton calls Drew Brees out of retirement to play for the Panthers.  That would be the biggest kick in the nuts to the Taints

But can Corral/rookie be his next Brees? There’s a little bit of Bill/Brady thing going on. Peyton didn’t stick around for a rebuild/finding a new QB.

 

Seems like having to trade assets to find the answer is a bit pricey.

I'd hate to give up a high pick just to acquire a head coach. But I wouldn't be against Payton coming here.

Here's the link, it's pretty far into the piece. When they start talking about jobs and divisions and such. He goes out of his way to mention Carolina and the NFC south and this was 2 days ago.
