The dream of having something you won't get stays alive a couple of more months.

He is going top 3 and I don't want to see us do a Lance size deal. Oh well, it just raises the chances of one of the other 2 falling far enough to do a trade that is a lot more justifiable.

You guys don't actually think the Panthers are going to try and trade the farm for Watson, do you?

If you're going where I think you're going with this statement, you have to realize that the Panthers didn't "try and trade the farm for Watson," and that's why he's not here.

I don't think we have any intentions of trading up. If we did, we would have pulled the trigger on the Burns trade. I know you need an edge rusher, but 5 1sts and 5 2nds over 3 years is a lot of necessary ammo to work with if you have intentions of moving up to get into one of the top 2 spots to get the most valuable position on the field.

We need offense, we need new life, we need a new coach.  If Young goes 1 or 2, and then someone jumps on Levis before Stroud, it's definitely going to be a possibility Stroud is a target.

We can snarkily discount that possibility, but given Fitt's presser and propensity for trades, I'd waiver on the "I don't know, could happen" side of things.

Chatter about Stroud is totally warranted given our spot and situation.  We're obviously looking at him, Young, Levis, & Richardson.

They definitely sent a trade package Houston’s way which was considered the best offer at the time. They didn’t want to guarantee all of that money though which is why Watson picked the Browns.

if carolina wanted a qb in the first they would have tanked.  trading up for one is not even in the cards.  If they blow up the team this off season, all positions are fair game.

Who says they didnt tank? More so, what does tanking even look like? Did they announce it? Lol

    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
    • I just saw the funniest thing...or very disappointing, depending how you handle misery. A guy on YouTube did a 2027 'way too early' mock draft.  If I told you the simulator has the Panthers selecting in the top 10 , what would you say?  If I told you it was pick #8 and only two QBs were taken in the top 7, what would you say?  If I told you this dude had us taking a defensive player, what would you say?
    • It is due diligence at that point. Irresponsible not to take him.  Crossing my fingers on this one, he has everything you look for except experience.
