With our second pick in the draft…

People need to remember, we have average TEs--we need a threat at the position.  To me, Kincaid is the best receiving TE but his blocking is not good (yet), but Mayer is the total package.  Hard for any team with needs to consider trading up, but mediocrity happens when you draft mediocre players.  If we could get 2 first round talents at QB and TE in this draft, I would be pretty excited.

I've got a few names, some mentioned:

Luke Musgrave TE, Dalton Kincaid TE, Drew Sanders LB, Jack Campbell LB, Rashee Rice WR, Josh Downs WR, Zay Flowers WR.  I really like all of them.

Later in the second, Daiyan Henley LB WSU with that SF 2nd or Mike Morris DE Michigan has a lot of upside.  Zach Charbonnet is my fave RB, could be that late second or our 3rd.

Anthony Richardson.

Here is what I hope we do. Trade back in the 1st and draft Cam Smith mid 1st. Use the capital from the trade back + one of our 2nd round picks to move back into the late 1st and draft Richardson.

I love the idea of Horn and Smith on the outside. Dream scenario for me.

we need too much help to give up both 2nds. I want John Michael Schmitz if we don't resign Bozeman. Also I love Drew Sanders and he has played both LB spots. Wilson and Shaq are both on the last year of their contract so he could be a long term solution to one of those spots. Downs because go Tarheels. Also got to think this could be last year of YGM so could use a true run stopping DE at some point or a true Free Safety if they ever figure out what to do with Chinn.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
