What would you give the bears for #1 pick

Anything less than 3 1st rounders is a not going to get it done to move up to #1 and the Bears know that. Who knows if the Bears want to move all the way down to 9 and miss out on a blue chip player too. I think it's more ideal to trade up to #5 and then package that to get up to #3 or even #1.

If we are ok with either Stroud or Young then we 100% have to leapfrog Indy. Houston will decide who we take if we can get Ariz spot at #3. Worst case scenario is Indy trades to #1 and takes a QB, Houston takes a QB, then I think Panthers will get desperate and trade up to settle for Levis or Richardson. Vegas and Atl are legitimate threats to take QBs even more so now that Brady is retiring. I'm sure Vegas was hoping to lure Brady there.

Carolina traded up to No. 3 overall and then to No. 1 overall. It is a similar model that Philadelphia used to select Carson Wentz in 2016. Philadelphia sent players, including Kiko Alonso and the No. 13 overall selection to Miami in exchange for the No. 8 overall selection. Then, it flipped that to Cleveland for the No. 2 overall selection. With the No. 1 overall selection, the Panthers select Bryce Young.

Houston does not get its pick of quarterback at No. 2 overall, but C.J. Stroud could still prove to be an elite talent.

Chicago attempts to upgrade its pass rush with the selection of Will Anderson Jr. The Bears want to move back from No. 1 overall without sacrificing the chance to select a top defensive talent like Jalen Carter or Anderson. A three-way trade with Carolina and Arizona makes that possible as the Cardinals trade back to pick up additional draft capital in Monti Ossenfort's first year.

Over Stroud?

He's shorter than even Kyler Murray.

I can't see any scenario where they'd trade the 1st pick to us for anything less than our first and both seconds this year, plus our next 2 firsts at a minimum, possibly more on top.

That's WAY too much to give up for any of these QB's in the draft this year.  We have way too many holes that are still needed to be filled and that's 3 starters just from this year's draft we'd be giving up there.

If there was more of a sure thing in this year's class it would be different, but there isn't.  We fill out those holes this year, maybe take Hooker in the 3rd, and then trade any possible draft pick as necessary next year to move up for a better QB prospect draft.

1st this year and Brian Burns. That’s a good damn offer. A pro bowl DE is easily worth 2 firsts

With how bad the Bears backup situation was when Fields missed time, I'd be serious about packaging Corral in the deal to help offset a future pick.  We could just as easily pick another mid/late rounder developmental guy in 2024/25.  No use in having one in 2023 if we're going top rookie & a vet backup combo for the active-53.

    • Completely agreed.  TBH, we have had so many great players that are in my favorite list, and I hate to narrow it down to one, but Cam is it.  Which is crazy, because you would think it would be more of the guys I grew up watching, but no.  Cam was the single most impactful player to ever out on a football uniform imo.  And like I said in an earlier post, I always felt a kinship with him in a lot of ways…  the way he was treated and judged for the off the field stuff in Florida and having to overcome all of that and fight show at back.  And although I am not a black man, I have always been welcomed by and accepted more by minorities, and thus, I know what it’s like to be judged by appearances rather than the content of your character and who you actually are.  I know what it’s like to be stereotyped and written off or mistreated for your mistakes.  I know what it’s like to be held to a different standard while your peers don’t have to meet that same standard.  So I always related to that.  And the way he came in and just electrified the whole franchise, man…  I still think about it often how much it sucks that because of how talented he was, our staff out so much on him and that ultimately cut his career short.  You’re right, there will never be another Cam…  I think Josh Allen is the closest thing we will see for a long time, but Allen is not the running threat Cam was.  Cam could run you over or around you.  That was THE absolute funnest time to watch our team ever.
    • It definitely needs more specificity than is baked in now.
    • The weirdest encounter I had with a pro athlete was waiting in line at security at Mile High Stadium when I used to get the company suite tickets almost every week because I was the only employee based in Colorado. There's a small checkpoint accessing the suites that virtually no one knows about that you can usually squirt right through. I was standing there and looked over my shoulder and there stands John fuging Elway waiting in line behind me.  This was during the The Golden Calf of Bristol season right before he became GM. I just said "They make YOU go through security?" He's like "Yeah, ain't that a bitch. I literally have a statue out front and I gotta go through security like everybody else." I've heard mixed things about him but he was super nice and down to earth with me that day.
