Glad to see Tepper is learning, but I find it funny how hard of a 180 he's done.  We went from a staff with 0 NFL experience to probably the most experienced staff in the NFL lol.

It seems like reactionary 180 decisions have been a theme for a couple years. This one feels different, like Tepper finally said fug it here's a blank check get your dream coaching staff so I can show my face in public again

If they aren't interested in coaching them up then what good are they?

The idea that coaches just what easy gigs without challenge doesn't seem based in reality.

If a coach has this approach you don't want them to begin with.

Understanding sarcasm is an art.  Our TE room is bad, but a job is a job especially if it's a promotion.

so do we know who they are talking to re: Tight tends coaching job?

i was just trying to get an idea of who thy might be chasing after. i started trying to do some digging, but after about 10 minutes of googling i gave up.

i see us going three routes based on what we've done so far...either guys who have been head coaches or that are on track to be a head coach or who are position coaches and assistant head coaches...or long term players who are getting into coaching.

so who is...

1) a former head coach who also either was a TE or coached TEs?

2) a rising star coach who may have played TE?

3) a former stud TE who is wanting to break into coaching?

I wonder if Tony Gonzalez wants to break into coaching?  He's still in broadcasting, correct?  What's Antonio Gates up to these days?

i was thinking about them. I don't think Gates is doing anything right now, but Gonzo has no desire to coach and i think he'll probably work with amazon again.

https://www.tmz.com/watch/0-c265zeyy/ this is him basically saying that coaching takes too much time and it would be a waste of time for him.

Kaye hinted that it could be Jeff Nixon.

That would make sense. Nixon did a good job with the running backs and he's coached pretty much every skill position on an offense. He was also one of the more NFL experienced coaches on Rhule's staff. Plus he's reported to be very well-liked and respected in the building.

To top it all off, it'd be kinda funny to see Reich succeed with one of Rhule's guys when Rhule couldn't 😀

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
