Gantt indicates the Panthers should bring in Carr

Keeping in mind that the football world is in the peak of the 'LYING SEASON', that will continue thru free agency & the draft. Talking heads will post anything as "facts" for clicks & reads. Please consider all of these "facts" with a grain of salt. Carolina FO & coaches should talk to Carr & any other player that could improve the team. If Carr fits into what they want to achieve, offer him a reasonable deal, if he declines, move on to the next. Reasonable offer: three years in the 80-100M range, starter position to be determined by his performance.

Before I would pay Brissett 15 mil I would pay 30 for Carr. Difference of 15 mil for some decent vs a place holder. 3 years max while developing a quarterback. I hope whatever happens we draft a quarterback with our first pick.

30 mil is about my ideal price for Carr and about 10 mil my ideal price for Brissett. Now, would definitely prefer less but I would personally get a little concerned if we saw prices over that for either of them.

Would Brissett be an option? 2 year bridge contract for like 10-15m a year.

I'd much prefer Brissett over Carr due to price and I don't believe the talent gap is a large as some people would point out. Like the difference between the 10-12 best QB in the league vs. the 15-17th

no matter what though we HAVE to get a rookie QB. we have kicked this can down the road for FAR too long

As much as we talk about Carr we sure are taking our sweet time meeting with him.

Is a meeting coming or is this just talk for a guy we aren't even interested in?

He's been a FA for 2 weeks now.

Seems like the Rodgers decision is the first domino needing to fall.

People better get used to Brissett.

Carr wants a bag and we don't have the money to go after him. We don't seem interested in Rodgers/Lamar either.

Brissett/Rookie QB always seemed like the most realistic option.

Not sure what we ultimately do, but $35M is not "a bag" for a veteran QB who has had the success that Carr has.

If and this is a big IF, the coaches think he's the franchise QB for the next 4-5 years, then sure.  But as a two-year bridge QB?  That's a lot of assets tied up for something that's not a long term solution, especially when that money can be allocated to other positions to shore them up.

We could go after mike white for 4 yrs cheaper than what Carr wants for 1 yr.

Geno to Seattle not set in stone?

If you're Smith, do you risk leaving the OC and coaching staff that helped bring you back into the limelight?

If I were to guess, I'd say it probably depends at least somewhat on whether you think they're going to stick with you 🤔

    • Everybody made too much of that. The CBA and the 17 game schedule is what kills the cohesion we see in teams across the league in the opening games.  You decide, look at your depth and make informed decisions there or you get a an extra quarter or whatever two quarters with your ones.  Teams that are set don’t have those openings as much down the roster to evaluate but that ain’t everybody. It is a quandary. I think they need that 4th preseason game back. But as I said, I don’t lay that as the excuse for Bryce to come out looking like he does to start seasons. He has an entire camp.
    • Hey I said the 1pm west coast team, I said the up down up down and we were due for the up week.  You can’t know what is going to happen. There was a guy that detailed why the league would engineer a Panthers win to bring LA Rams back to the pack in conference standings.  Who really knows, and how much real belief do you have when citing these things? I generally have as much as my superstition allows. It rarely rises to an emotional experience. Usually it is more analytical. In terms of interest. When crazy poo happens and we win a game like today I for sure enjoy it.  I mean you have to think about it, how many times do you connect 2 4th and short situations for TDs? Who does that? That is like the most embarrassing thing for the Rams’ defense lol. That never happens and should never happen.  Expecting it to happen might not be a good plan. But it was pretty great
