Exactly, I still think we target one. Yet it gives us the ability NOT too if there's a better defensive prospect.

We are setting it up to actually go BPA at 39.  I like it.  I'm hoping a CB falls if not a top edge/OLB or ILB is a possibility. We end up with combo of Stround/young then a Jack Campbell/ Forbes im ecstatic.

I believe these FA signings have showed us that Carolina has bought 2 years to find the future at TE and WR. Hurst and Thielen are on the wrong side of 30 and are a temporary fix....though will be productive here for the next couple of seasons.

We've got the next two offseasons to figure out our WR1 and TE1 of the future.

Hurst is like 29...lol

Chark deal shows we either gonna see if he's healthy enough for an extension after the season or we'll def be in the market for a WR in the draft.  The 1 year deal doesn't resolve the need in my eyes.

The transition tag for a WR this off-season was $17,991,000.

If Chark shows he’s capable of being a WR1 and we can’t strike a long term deal, he seems a perfect candidate for the transition tag. If someone gives him a contract offer we don’t want to match, we receive two 1sts for a one year rental with a significant injury history.

dhop might still be in play 👀

No chance. While we don’t have a clear stud WR1, we now have too much good talent at WR to trade any more draft capital for the position. Better off drafting another one late in the draft and developing him than trading more assets for an another WR on the wrong side of 30.

What if the trade is TMJ and a 4th for Hopkins and Cards take some of the salary hit in 2023?

For this upcoming season, I think Chark, Thielen, Hurst, TMJ and LS are ‘good enough’.  I would spend some of the remaining cap on the defense, to acquire a quality ILB, NT or 5 tech.  If we could get one of the these three that could be a quality starter or part of regular rotation, I’d be down with that.

I guess I should add a CB to the above shopping list.

While I have not researched his back injury, Shaq Griffin might be a nice addition to the CB group.  He is 27, has been successful, and can't ask for bags of money following a year in which he spent most of the 2022 season on IR.  Jax tried to trade him, no takers, so they cut him.

I'd hope we'd kick the tires--that is about all I know.

I like your thinking.  Extra pudding for you.

    • Well bois, we gave the Devils their due! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery... The jersey boys have been trying to jack our steeze for a few years now. They've followed our blueprints and studied our tape. Every offseason, they pounce on our sloppy seconds in a Newark minute. Quick with the puck, ferocious on the forecheck and stifling team defense. Down to the colors, this is this closest we'll come to having to play ourselves in Ole Stanley's Hockey Hoedown. As the postseason began, Rod stood flexing in the gym mirror and saw this guy staring back from the void... (Shutters) When beating us at our game didn't work, Timo and the Tri-State Trash tried to tango instead. Outside of a bitchass cheapshot on Freddie, that poo didn't work either. Their goon squad was getting wrecked by our bantam weights. As much as we all wanted to see Svechy or Staal Bunyan literally break someone in half after the Great Dane went down, they didnt need to. Our munchkins were monsters! Jarvis obliterating giants at the blue line, Logan laying the Stank on dudes twice his size and Blakers blasting Timo into next season. It was beautiful to see! (Side note: Does JBlo wear lead weights under his pads? 170lbs shouldn't be able to hit that hard!) We closed it out in 5, for the gentleman's sweep. Only team in the league to win a series in each of the past 7(?) seasons! And, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year... Onto the awards: Key To The Series : 6 for 19 - .316% IT FINALLY WORKED!!! MVP : 16/180 g/s - .911 save% - 2.53 gaa Seriously, without this dude, we would've won in 3! (Trust me bro) 3rd Star : 6/94 g/s - .936 save % - 1.59 gaa The Great Dane   2nd Star : 3 g - 5 a - +1 - 20:38 toi/g - 18 hits - 3 bs - 58.1% fo 3 PP goals and the 2OT series winning goal! WOOAAAHHH NELLY!!!!   And, your 1st Star of the series : 5 g - 1 a - +3 - 16:48 toi/g - 16 hits - 1 bs - 1 tk - 50% fo Zero, I repeat, zero penalty minutes for the series! MISSSTAAAHHH SVEEECHNIKOOOV!!!!!! Onto The Next: Now, we wait for the Habs to make it a nasty 7 game slog, while we recuperate. And, hopefully, get Nikishin, and some of the other black aces some real peactice time. We are gonna need those guys at some point. Because, if you think the Devils were dirty, hoooo boy, wait till you see what's next...
