Keyshawn Johnson thinks we “could” move up for Will Anderson…

We are at this part of the season. After watching Keyshawn, Jwill & Max. Keyshawn told Max on air that he “thinks” Carolina could trade up for Alabama’s Will Anderson.. We traded 3 1st, 2 2nds, and DJ Moore. CTE is real guys.
Also I think the pick will be Bryce Young

Maybe I misunderstood, you said we traded 3 1st's. I understood us to have swapped 1st's from 9th to 1st, technically that's with a 2nd. A first in 2024 and a 2nd in 2025 & DJ Moore which I assume you're counting as 1. At best I'd say we gave up 2 1st's...

Keyshawn has always pissed me off. He has had bias towards us since he was cut. To say we won’t be competitive and didn’t act like we could win the division because “carr” is laughable enough.

1st year coaching staff. No foundation to build on. Giving away the value of 5 1st round picks for a QB that is not a clear consensus day one pro ready QB. A severe lack of defensive playmakers and leadership.

You have a better shot at being a SB contender in 3 years with a college coaching staff, trading down out of every first round for the next 3 years, and signing all 30 year old free agent QBs.

Bill Walsh, Jimmy Johnson, Mike Holmgren, Andy Reid, and Bill Belichick would all have been set up to be fired in 3 losing seasons by their GM if this is how they started off year 1.

Man, it’s so bleak, idk why you’re here. Might as well forget about the Panthers for a few years and check back in 2026 since there’s really no hope at all.

    • Yeah, banking on his hands, vertical, height etc. Thing is we have a processor with an average arm, not a gunslinger so he might not even get those 50/50's to even show what he can do. XL has some of the same BY issues, if he doesn't get some 50/50 throws his way he's going to be stuck catching a lot of expected shallow crossers aka dinks and dunks
    • Really like him. He will be great for Bryce. I hope he doesn't get a lot of push off calls as he did that on some of those catches.
    • Everyone talks about how important it is to draft a QB in round 1 and have the "5th year option" I haven't seen it play out the well over the past several years. The good/great QB' aren't playing the first 5 years under their original deal.  After year 3 or 4 they are getting mammoth extensions. Having Penix take over in year 3 may actually save the Falcons some money over the next 5 seasons. I doubt they'd give him an extension after his first year as a starter if he took over the starting position after the guaranteed portion of Kurt Cousins new deal ends in 2025.   In terms of playing time, Penix 3 years as a starter would be ending with the 5th year of his rookie deal (assuming his option was picked up). The money Penix would be making in year 5 of a rookie contract would be significantly less than the upper echelon 5 year starters are making now.
