i would flip Young and Stroud. Probably just me, but i think Stroud ends up being the more impressive overall candidate.

And i'm with you in hoping the decision was already made. I feel like it's one of those things they know but they want to be sure of first. I think they believe that either Stroud or Young or even Richardson (to a lesser degree) would be worth the first overall, but i think someone impressed them enough to want to just go ahead and jump in. They saw/learned enough at the combine to say "we can NOT miss out on this guy."

That part is what is making me think it isn't Young.  You could make a case for the other 3 after the combine.  Honestly it looked like Stroud was the best pure passer (which I feel is what Reich wants) and AR of course stole the show.  The fact that the trade happened so quickly after the combine makes me think Stroud or maybe AR, unless they just really like Bryce Young's interviews?

Hear me out, in all these cases the QB is drafted a year before the WR. This year we grab Stroud and imagine if we somehow landed Marvin Harrison Jr next year, absolute pipe dream but fug that would be scary.

Gonna be impossible to do without a first in 24 and without a second in 25.

same. i don't know how long or how much was packed into those interviews, but Young would have really had to have blown them away for him to overcome both Stroud and apparently AR.

Stroud's tape, plus combine performance has to have put him in the lead.

It’s a hypothetical scenario, we all know we don’t have picks next year it’s not a logical plan it’s purely a dream hypothetical.

Even if Stroud is the pick, the way some people are talking and hyping him up, he'll never live up to what they're imagining/dreaming.

How do you mean? Like instant Mahomes and Super Bowl runs or something? I've seen one or two folks with extreme expectations but most seem to be pretty realistic. Myself I'm looking at the offense post CMC and Moore trades and I'm not overly optimistic in the short term. There's still plenty of offseason left but it's going to take us another year or two to get where we need to be built around our new QB1. But I feel very good about Stroud's abilities translating to the NFL. And in the off chance he isn't the pick I'd rather shoot for the stars and take Richardson than hope Young goes on to become one of very few outliers for his size at the position or take a risk on Levis in a trade down.

Burrow-Chase, Hurts-D. Smith, Tia-Waddle. Does having a receiver that a rookie QB is familiar with aid in development? It appears to be a trend.

JSN COULD be a legitimate WR1. Do we do what it takes to reunite Stroud- JSN. That’s assuming we take Stroud with the #1 pick, of course.

You must be new here.

There is no way to get JSN without trading Brian Burns or Jaycee Horn and he ain't worth that.

There's a bunch of folks setting themselves up for a letdown. It's far from a sure thing that Stroud is the pick.

It will be funny to see them exit stage left if this doesn't happen.

I will also have a good laugh at all the butthurt Stroud homers in our fanbase who are already establishing militant opinions about him.

IDC who we take between Stroud and Young. I think both have the potential to be franchise QB's. I am just glad we get to make this kind of choice again.

I prefer Stroud, but I'm not gonna throw a sh-t fit if we pick someone else.

I'm ok with any of the top 4.  I prefer Stroud, but I work in accounting and have zero scouting experience.  I'm more excited about what this staff can do with any young talented QB.

    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
    • it's not so much this personal vendetta against the Carolina Panthers as it is more about Bryce Young never not once been in the same conversation with the top 15 or even top 20 Qbs in the NFL ..just saying
