Clearly making a comparison to the situation here. Bryce Young would be Mac Jones in this scenario and, I'm guessing, Anthony Richardson is Trey Lance. The only issue with Schefter's theory is that we don't have Jimmy Gorropolo, we have Andy Dalton. Though Andy Dalton was very, very successful in Cincinnati which makes me wonder how his career fell off of a cliff.

I could see Young taking more hits because he thinks he can escape, whereas Stroud will throw the ball away. I also wouldn't underestimate Stroud's mobility. He shows he can do it, he just didn't have a need for it. Young couldn't see over the line so he would have to move more to find lanes which people are wowed by but it isn't really indicative of anything other than the fact that he's short. 

So give me Stroud who can see over and around the line without having to scramble versus Young who HAS to scramble to even see anything.

I'm not knocking Young. I think their approach to the game is just different, but both have the potential to be elite. And I haven't seen anything in Stroud's performance to lead me to believe that even with tougher competition and with less talent around him that he couldn't do just as well, in fact that is exactly what happened against GA.

I'm leaning towards Stroud, but I would be thrilled with either one and think that with either one we'd rule the NFCS right out of the gate.

So you are telling me 5'10 can't see over 6'5 line but 6'3 can see over 6'5? Technically, neither of them can.

It's funny how people think that QBs can see over the line. 

I'm 6'3 and I can assure you that I can't see over ppl who are 6'3 let alone taller. 

Andy Reid once said & I'm paraphrasing... "QBs don't look over building to throw the ball, they look between the buildings to throw the ball".

The "can't see over the line" thing is very overrated!

Bryce scrambles when he has to, due to pressure & not because he can't see over the line.

We know that Young’s processing is awesome, but I also haven’t heard anything negative about Stroud’s processing. Have we seen any analyst say Stroud is not as good of a processor? Do we have any proof that he is not on the same level? Just because he isn’t running around like Young? That’s more a playing style thing in my mind. And to clarify, I’m totally open to this being the case, but I’m curious if anyone can back this up outside of just a random opinion?

I did by showing you at this stage, one is calling plays & adjust protection at the line of scrimmage while the other gets plays called in. 

Can CJ do that, I don't know. But what I do know is that he is not currently doing that...

as far as the GA game it was impressive, but it was 1 game. Can that be the new CJ? Sure. But we don't know. 

What we do know is that Bryce has add performances like the that over & over & over again.

Law Of Averages. If our team knocked 5" and 30lbs off the NFL average we would get clobbered. Do that at any position and then multiple positions you see what a snowball that can become.

There are averages in every facet of life for a reason, ignore them to your eventual detriment.

      this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.

      The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.

      My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
