The Panthers have been really good at keeping things quiet....

Did some thinking this morning and I am realizing that this is the most concealed that this office has ever been. Seems like every expert, analyst, or media source has been dead wrong when trying to forecast what our plan is.

If you think about recent years under who shal not be named ... we knew everything and our moves were predictable.

So here is my question to the huddle.... Why do you think this is? How have we become so good at keeping things internal?

My theory: Respect. I believe our FO/Staff has a lot of respect around the league and when they have conversations with other offices, they keep the door shut.

Let me know your thoughts.

I think intentional leaks are also a big factor. Potentially even with this front office. They could be intentionally leaking different names for our favored QB on purpose. I think so much of this time of year is gamesmanship and Voldemort was just clueless.

Maybe Im off - feel free to share material of someone predicting our offseason coaching hires and offseason acquisitions.

Then we can close this thread.

No, you may actually be right. THe info we are getting could be all guesses from the media.

I tend to agree, I have never seen this much confusion over what we are doing in the draft, or what free agents we are bringing. For example, no one saw Miles Sanders actually getting signed. People listed him as a good fit, but to me that came out of nowhere. Didn't see him connected by anyone.

It shouldn’t be. Playing the media is amateur.

No need to besmirch Voldemort’s name and reputation by comparing him to Rhule.  That’s just unnecessarily cruel.

Be better than that.

Even the illustrious Hurndog couldn't hide his intentions. Will Grier was one of the worst kept secrets leading up to draft day. When he focused in on a player, there was no chance of getting any kind of deal. While there are moves this offseason I'm not as fond of as others, they've done well concealing their intentions. It's refreshing to see this franchise being run like a business instead of a good ol boys club.

    • Vegas is now under the cap after Alex Pietrangelo retired.
    • I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
