Watch Kyle Shanahan turn Darnold into a Pro Bowler

I’ve just got this feeling Darnold tears it up on the 49ers next year. They have a loaded offense with probably the best offensive coach in the NFL. They were probably heading to the Super Bowl if Purdy didn’t get hurt in the NFC championship game. Darnold was playing well in most games at the end of 2022 and that was on a team with Ben McAdoo calling plays.

This is easily the best situation Darnold has been in and it seems like he turned a corner late last season. I think he beats Lance for the starting job and has a career season. Good for him for landing in an ideal situation.

Darnold played well with us under Wilks. Now you give him a way better roster with all those weapons of course he is going to play like a pro bowler.

 

He doesn't have to do much just get the ball to their playmakers CMC/Deebo/Kittle.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. Kid deserves an ideal situation for all he’s been through. Hoping nothing but the best for him, and happy we’ve both moved on.

It will be his problem. Good luck playing him in a crucial game when the opponents can get pressure.

i think he'll be moderately hyped just because it's the 49ers. 

he won't be a pro-bowler, though. he'll still be a pretty clunky QB and he's going to find himself eventually backup to Purdy.

Maybe for a few games but eventually Sam will do what Sam does.

I'd love to see it. Seems like a good, dumb California kid, who has been run through the wringer of some of the worst situations in the NFL to start his career. He wasn't a bad guy or a locker room cancer. I don't know what his ceiling is, but I know the Jets and the Rhule Panthers sure as hell weren't the way he was going to find it.

If he can't win with that roster than he's probably going to be a backup for the rest of his career.

Shanahan runs a very quarterback friendly system.

I don't know if I'd go Pro Bowler but improved player is at least a possibility.

Will actually be an interesting QB competition. Purdy did well, but you saw flaws late in the season and in the playoffs. Lance is a wildcard as is Darnold. It wouldn’t surprise me if any of the 3 win the job.

I'd love to see Darnold succeed in SF... the kid was fed poo situation after poo situation. That being said.... he has to lose to us in the playoffs. Non-negotiable.

Sam won't even start there. Purdy is their guy with Lance as the back up. Sam is a warm camp body and injury insurance who is on a 1 year deal.
