Don't throw dice on a first round pick

This chance and the trade to make it happen may not come around again. They have had plenty of time to do research and figure out all options.

'Maybe and/or take a shot' doesn't work with this pick. Make the safest pick possible and leave all the development BS to a later pick for another team.

This is their one shot to become relevant again and stay relevant for seasons to come.......don't fug it up boys.

Every draft pick is a roll of the dice. The idea of a "can't miss prospect" is a total myth. There's always going to be some significant uncertainty when you're projecting a guy to the next level of competition.

A lot of 5 star recruits fail to pan out in college. A lot of NBA lottery picks bust. A lot of NFL 1st round picks bust. It's just the way it is. There are no sure things.

Not so sure about that. The Hornets are as close to a certainty to screw up a 1st round pick as I have ever seen.

Very true but if we fail with Young or CJ that will be far more forgivable than AR or Revis. Painful none the less but forgivable because they (Young and CJ) are for the most part consensus 1a and 1b QBs.

You don't trade away 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks and your WR1 to make a 'safe' pick.

Yeah, I think that's what Matt Rhule went with when he denied the trade up for Herbert and then again with taking Horn over Fields. Play it safe guys. The Josh Rosen's of the draft always need a front office ready to play it safe.

Trading what they did is not playing anything 'safe'. That was the throwing of the dice.

You are trading to be sure you don't take 3rd choice in a two horse race.

Doubling down on that for a long shot is bad strategy.  If your life depends on it, that is when you try that. It doesn't.
