That looks crazy in slo mo. Time stamped

That handoff was horrible but it looks like someone screwed up there before the handoff occurred. Looked like Young expected the RB to be on his right hand instead he was on his left. One of them was wrong and so everything was out of sync. RB had to slow down, Young had to readjust. Play was fuged from jump street. That's the type of poo that happens when you try to do something on game day that you likely rarely practice.

He isn’t mobile like Lamar and isn’t mobile like Pat mahomes either. But I get your comparison

I agree with Lamar, but Mahomes? BY can do anything with his legs Mahomes can. Neither are a running QB, both can extend plays and scramble when needed

It's a concern, but only if you are dead set on running a lot of plays from under center.

Here's the thing, though, you don't have to run plays from center....ever. the league has been running less and less plays from under center over the past 15-20 years.

Good OCs can arrange it so you can have a lethal offense and never run it from center. It's nothing more than a preference. It's not a necessity.

It comes down to scheme. If you want to run a lot of snaps from under center you're probably not high on Bryce Young. If you plan on primarily operating out of the gun then you probably don't really care anyway.

You either scheme it in our you don't. You tailor your offense to fit your players after you've gotten players who fit your identity. If your identity doesn't depend on playing from under center, it's not a big deal to you. If you like plays from under center but like the player more, you fit what you do to the player.

This is a lie. This makes it sound like Stroud is a raw prospect or somethin. There is no way in hell.

It’s not a lie. Again the consensus is if BY was 6’2 he would be the no question #1 pick. There’s a reason for that, he’s the best NFL ready QB in this class. That in no way says CJ is a raw prospect, Bryce is just viewed as the better all around QB as of right now if you aren’t concerned of his size.

Baltimore ran 97% from shotgun this year. Chiefs were something like 75%. I’m confident BY could figure out how to take a snap under center for 5-25% of the time.

What the stats under a frank recih team? Thats what is needed to see if this is a fit or need to over come.

Rams too.

Looking at anther thread in the Huddle it stated that CJ Stroud under center count was 121 which ranked 15th most in the nation Young had 4 in 2022. This could be a huge Red flag and it’s not talked about much either also looking at a-lot of young tape I seen him under center on a 3rd and 1 Vs Texas A&M and he didn’t look comfortable at all his hand off to Brian Robison Jr was high and it caused a fumble on a crucial down so if Bryce is drafted are we limited to just Shotgun and pistol or will they coach him to be under center tried to include a video but for reference it’s at 2:28 Alabama Vs A&M 2021

We don’t know if he can do it well because we haven’t seen him do it. Doesn’t mean he can’t (hint to anti-Stroud folks here 😀).

My main concern is if they didn’t do it because of him being really short, if that is true it would limit our playbook quite a bit. But it might also just be the design of the Alabama offense regardless who’s at QB.
