You're the GM. 2023 Panthers Re-draft

i'm ok with the draft.

biggest issue was getting a QB and we got the best one in the draft.

everything else is just gravy.

The NFL Network did a piece on Mingo/Young, and the premise for the segment was "Will Mingo get 1000 yards this season?"

I am not as down on Johnson as others.  They had him in for a private visit (I believe) and Evero seems to have been targeting him.   While we would have loved to see him fall to 93, the cards were not suggesting that was a sure thing--(Found it interesting that Evero started coaching Johnson on the congrats phone call, "We gotta set the edge before we rush the QB..." Tells me a lot about the kind of player Evero wants there.

Zavala might be the best value pick.  I am going to predict that he wins the LG job very soon--maybe in camp.

1st round - Bryce Young

1st round - Smith-Njigba

1st round - Kincaid

1st round - Bresee

I traded all our picks. I traded all our picks next year.  I traded all our picks the year after that.  I traded all our picks the year after that.  I traded Sir Purr. I traded Dom Capers.  I traded some Bojangles.   Traded 2 cheerleaders.

I'm a freaking football GM.  Yall can stay in your lane.  Trust the professional.

Sucks having to wait your turn. The nerve of those other teams, taking our players.

I'd never have moved to 1.1 so this redo is fruit of the poisoned tree afaic but I don't mind what they did with the day 2/3 picks they held on to. I saw and understand what happened at 39 but think Evero was for sure owed a player (so to speak, it was an obvious need), so I am not complaining about who he picked where, before they play a down.

I have no clue how staying at 9 would have changed the dynamic so no rethinking it.

You traded all of that and only ended up with Smith-Njigba, Kincaid, and Bresee? You suck lol

You could have at least managed to keep the Bojangles.

A little post draft fun since there's not much happening until TC. Most of us, myself included, are pretty critical of our GMs and say we knew better. So here's an opportunity that we can revisit later to see who really did know better. We've seen how the draft fell so change our picks. Now's the opportunity to put your redraft on the record. Of course there's trades, etc. but for the sake of simplicity, I'm just going to keep our picks. So here's mine.

(1)Anthony Richardson - If we're going to swing for the fences moving up to 1, I go for the highest ceiling. Ideally I'd like to trade down to 2 and pick up the 24' 1st they offered Chicago and still take AR, but I'll go with the pick here.

(39) BJ Ojulari - We needed an edge rusher opposite Burns and one was right there for the taking.

(93) Kelle Ringo - CB is a need too. Can't rely on DJ and JH to stay healthy and Henderson is a liability. We need help and here it is.

(114) Chandler Zavala - Like this pick and see no need to change it. always invest in your offensive line.

(132) Tyler Scott - Fast, athletic WR that will add to our WR room.

(145) Antonio Johnson - Safety is a need and AJ has a similar style to Chinn if we can't end up keeping him.

That's what I'd do on a draft redo. The positions taken actually stay the same, but who and where is obviously different. So who's your picks? Who's going to be worth picking and who isn't? Obviously I'm going to support all our current picks and BY is our QB. Just a little something to do while we wait.

Sorry but you don’t get to go back and cherry pick.  No one knew who would be picked after you picked.  The Panthers moved up for the #1 player in this draft and that means they get a strong A.  In a weak draft looking at who they picked it moves to A+

Everyone is going nuts over the Eagles but lots of questions with those players too

1 - Young - best player

2 - Mingo - best big WR in the draft…despite his combine he is a possession WR.  #2 or more likely #3 guy

3 - DJ Johnson - best big DE left that can play the run strong which we don’t have

4 - Zavala - good IOL of those left but totally based on last season.  I think he could completely bust and be a non factor.  He probably never faced any NFL level players and has almost no experience

5 - Robinson - tough as hell but undersized and probably can’t handle the physical NFL game.  Might never get a serious chance at his size.  Can’t cover anyone

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
