We aren’t sure he can see far enough over the line yet.  Let’s see him play a few meaningful games before we start pounding our chests.

the Panthers line is the same average height as his Alabama line. Did he shrink?

I'll go as far to say Bryce, if healthy, will be a top 5 QB in the NFC as soon as this year, he's one of the most pro-ready QB's out of the draft in the last 10 years and the only concern about him is his frame/holding up over 17 games

He’ll be okay. Most injuries QB get have nothing to do with being hit by a bigger player.

But will he be old enough to get those calls?

He'll be small enough that's for sure.

The smaller guys tend to get the calls more often because the hits look more violent against them.

It's why Cam and Big Ben rarely got roughing called for them.

I think Young will be fine making the transition to the NFL.  How do you guys feel your defense will do switching to a 3-4?  Not an easy change.

Considering you are in your base 25% of the time and in nickel well over 50% it won't be much different than before since we use the nickel a lot. I think it will make the defense even nastier especially if we bring lots of pressure.

It’s almost like hack a Shaq in the NBA teams got to beat on Shaq way more then they do James Harden who get breath on and draws a foul..

If Bryce somehow turns out to be a bust, it won’t be from performance it will be from injury and longevity.

Everything is there just have to make it last, and keep good OL around him. The same people that will complain when he gets hurt will be the same ones that complain when we use day 1 and 2 draft picks for OL.

Average height for an Olineman is 6'5 .

How tall do you have to be to see over the OL? How many QBs are capable of doing that?

QBs don't look over the OL. They all look through them. They all choose their lanes to look through.

Yep, from here on out, as long as Young is our QB, OL is the most important part of this team every offseason and making sure it is in a sound place.

Right now we have a great OL in place with parts that we likely can keep here for a few years.  I'd say taking an OL in the 3rd or 4th every year as possible backups is a good idea, and when we need to replace a starter, if we can't do it through FA before the draft, need to use a 2nd or 1st that year on OL.

If Bryce stays healthy, in the future we can go a year without WRs or a RB, or even some things on defense if he's that good.  But OL is something we'll never be able to compromise with him as our QB, can't risk it.  It will be the position that we'll over pay for FA's if necessary as well, and I won't have any issue with it myself.

You watch his career highlights and watch what happens after he gets the ball out.....he take big hits, just like everyone else. That very first play where the snap is bad, he gets that ball out and takes a headshot.

And you know what?

He gets up.

Every. Damn. Time.

And you know what he does every time gets back up?

He makes magic happen. Again..

Can’t wait to see it in action. Exciting times to be a Panthers fan.

have lots of Alabama friends looking to join the Panthers bandwagon a smidge and cheer on Bryce with us…

im glad that the NFL rules recently have gotten better about protecting the QB regarding bad hits and stuff.   I hope that Bryce gets the credit and takes advantage of those rules in all the ways that we never got to see when Cam was targeted unfairly and the refs looked the other way

Good point. Wasn't sure if Carolina was loading up on linebackers instead of D-linemen. Typically happens when teams make that switch.
