You rather win and be middle of the pack then set yourself up for long term success?

How awful the league would be if every team used that approach. It would be unwatchable.

Only a few QB options to draft every year, and the list of #1 overall taken at QB isn't great. Cam, Kyler, Mayfield, Goff, Winston, Luck, Bradford, Stafford. It's a team game with a much more coaching involvement than other sports so it all plays a part, but it's not like getting Lebron or Jordan solves all your problems at the NFL level

What if 2 teams were trying to tank at the same time and faced each other

Here you take the ball

Nah , go head

That's ok , you deserve  it more

There is the endzone, and you are to fast for us

Yeah, but I just fumbled it so you guys can scoop and score

Yeah, but we just couldn't pick it up, go ahead and score

Nah, we just can't

1000 years later....

Please go ahead and score

Nah, you first

Only on the huddle does someone chime in trying to speak up for Kirk Cousins lmao. Guys you don't have to shield mediocrity anymore it's a new day. Old habits die hard I guess.

What do you think the market rate is for a mediocre starting QB? This ain’t the 1960s. Derek Carr just signed a $150 million, $37.5 million/year contract. He’s at best in the same tier as Cousins, although statistically he has had a far less productive career. Jordan Love has done absolutely nothing so far in 3 seasons and got a $13.5 million contract. Thinking that a $10 million salary would scare people off from trading for a Cousins-level QB is just silly…there’s no need to get defensive. I’d be more put off by whatever assets they were probably asking for in the trade, rather than paying his relatively measly $10 million salary.

I’ve seen people saying he has an average arm, average athleticism and even some saying he has average processing.

Well the first two shouldn’t be considered silly. His arm is average for an NFL QB. As is his athleticism. His processing, however, is said to be elite.

Nearly all the past Goats of the position didn’t have cannons or great athleticism but they were elite between the ears an their work ethic. And all the QB needy teams know this and they saw it in Bryce

You mean Jeff George is not in the Hall of Fame with his 99 arm strength rating.

We agree QB salaries are excessive and also agree he is ultimately mediocre along with Carr. But just like Carr who was coming off one of his worst seasons with arguably the best WR in football and still got a 150 million dollar deal with his new team the same will be waiting for Kirk if he ends up in a new city. That 10 million is just a placeholder for another fat contract we both know it. That's just the nature of the position now that there are so few good starting quarterbacks. I'm just glad we finally did what needed to be done to draft and develop our own.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
