People thinking San Fran is a good city to live in, even if rich, are stuck in the 1980s and 1990s. Place is a total shithole now.

Like yeah Charlotte is utterly mid but I'd rather live in Chernobyl than San Fran in 2023.

Love southern California's class disparity and cost of living but hate the nice weather? Oh I have the place for you....

LOL.  You forgot to subtract the value of the 9 pick.  They didn't just give us the 1 outright.  We swapped ones.  And we had to make up the difference in with other picks.  The value we had to make up was 3000-1350=1650.  That's 20%.    You're just plain off dude.

The standard is to subtract a round for out years due to the uncertainty and time.  A 1st round pick in 2050 is NOT worth the same as today dude.  It just isn't.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/la9tda/how_much_value_do_future_draft_picks_hold/

Your math sucks and you clearly have no clue how to value future picks.

Done wasting my time with you.

What? We got the 1st pick and gave up 2 firsts, 2 seconds and DJ Moore.  You can’t just ignore pick 9 and say pick 56 was 20% of what we traded. “Swapped picks” doesn’t mean anything. The overall value we got was 3000 points and pick 56 was 340 points. That’s 11% of our entire package, including pick 9, we gave up to get Young. All told, I’m sure we gave up more than 3000 in true value.

You are still completely missing the point on future picks. Do you truly believe that this year’s 2nd round picks are more talented than next year’s 2024 1st round picks? Do you truly believe that this year’s 4th round picks will be more talented than 2025’s 2nd round picks? If you do, you’re completely wrong. If you don’t then I don’t know why you are not getting my point. Rebuilding teams are looking for those future 1sts and 2nds to build a more talented team overall knowing that they have the time before they are competitive so they can wait to make picks of more talented players.

According to your simplistic view of future picks, teams should be trading future 1sts for current 2nds and 3rds all the time since they are 100% equivalent.

Again, the main point still stands that the CMC trade had nothing to do with getting Young. We make that trade very easily with the picks we already had and not trading CMC wouldn’t have stopped us from making the Young trade.

I’m sure you’ll reply but that’ll be my last on this.

I did not say it was better, more diversified out of necessity. There were a couple of games Teddy cost us with poor play that took points off the board. You read what you wanted to see.

The post you replied to that specifically said the offense was better without CMC because we spread the ball around more. Your post sure seemed to be in agreement. I gave simple stats that showed we scored a lot more per game with CMC (against good teams). You are backtracking a bit which is fine after you see the stats, but I hope you saw that post you replied clearly said that we were better off without CMC. The stats don’t appear to support that but this fan base seems to have a weird inferiority complex that makes us lash out and change the past when it comes to ex-players even if the team moved on.

The coldest Winter I ever spent was a Summer in San Fransisco.

And to the people saying SF or Charlotte?  Well, for me, it's Charlotte, but in this case Charlotte isn't really Charlotte...it's likely a penthouse in Charlotte and a Mansion on the water on Lake Norman.

I'm taking the penthouse, the lake house, the weather and the lower taxes.

Living in San Fran over Charlotte is what this is about.

Dude loving the Bay Area. I seen him at the Warriors game so many times on TV. Dude is just a West Coast guy. He feels at home.

San Francisco is disgusting - I would take Charlotte every single time

Not even close!

If you have money there is no way I would choose Charlotte over San Fran. It's expensive but it's totally worth it if you have that kind of money to live there.

I mean… if you were him, and we know he doesn’t like being kept off the field, playing for Rhule. I’m sure he has some wear and tear injuries where he was like, “ok doc, I’m out for what..? 12 weeks, cool” which if he was on a competitor he’d fight to keep playing. I’m happy for the guy and hoping maybe in 5 years we can get him back for a SB run on a vet 1 year deal.

he won't be playing in 5 years

San Fran is nasty man - the city hasn't been maintained.  It looks like a dump - trash blowing around - traffic - just nasty

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/05/16/christian-mccaffrey-terms-trade-as-the-best-thing-that-ever-happened-to-me/

Christian McCaffrey has admitted that he initially was “angry” with the Panthers for trading him. Now, after 14 games (including the postseason) and seven months with the 49ers, the star running back is counting his blessings.

“In hindsight, I firmly believe it’s the best thing that ever happened to me,” McCaffrey said

McCaffrey totaled 1,210 yards of offense and 10 total touchdowns with the 49ers, bringing his 2022 season total to 1,880 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns.

“I say this with the utmost respect, this is a family,” McCaffrey said. “It’s the first time I felt like, even alumni, just getting to know these guys, it’s special; it’s different, and there’s a reason it’s sustainable and has been for so long. The word I would use now is, just very proud to be a part of this organization.”

I enjoyed  the time Christian McCaffrey  spent with the Panthers, now I wish him all the success in the world with the 49ers and hope he will be able to remain  injury free for a long time.

So the best thing that ever happend to this douche was playing half a season with SF and earning 690k? Not the years he was with us and earned 53m, yea ok buddy.

See how long miss culpo would be around if your career earnings were 690k.

Big cities are nasty.

Every been to New York?

San Fran has a lot more to offer than Charlotte. Outdoor lifestyle, great weather, the culinary scene is great if you are a chef that's the best place to pursue that career. They also have great career opportunities.

Charlotte is a small town vibe city. If you more of a indoor person than you might prefer Charlotte. Other than that I can't think of any reason why I would rather live in Charlotte over San Fran.
