Eddy with a groin issue..

The Panthers brought in another kicker Tuesday, as Eddy Piñeiro manages an injury that could cost him some preseason time.

The team added Matthew Wright after a pre-practice workout Tuesday.

Wright has kicked for the Chiefs, Steelers, and Jaguars in his career.

He was the guy who helped the Jaguars snap a 20-game losing streak in 2021 when he hit a game-winning 53-yard field goal against the Dolphins in London.

He's appeared in 23 games in his career and is 40-of-46 on field goals and 35-of-37 on extra points.

Isn't this how we wound up with Pineiro? 🤔

Well Zane like tore his off the bone. Eddy will fine, I know it’s easy to fearmonger (not you in particular but in general) but I wouldn’t freak out.

If they had to put him on PUP, then it’s something worth worrying about but they didn’t so he’ll be ready for the season.

We literally drafted Harrison Butker and let him go just to struggle with kickers year after year afterwards 😆  not that I feel bad for him he's a 2x super bowl champion

Butker struggled last season, fwiw.  18 of 24 (ranked 28th) and missed 3 x points.

kasay cursed us...

Ehh, many other teams have had much worse kicking situations than us over the years. Bears, Vikings come to mind immediately. Gano was really quite solid for us for a while and our kicking could've been worse since he left. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have a Tucker or Vinatieri, even Butker has been overall very very good for KC. But kicking is far far down the list of our problems in team history.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
