I think this narrative that the Jets somehow game planned and did all this extra stuff....is largely just a fanbase coping with the fact the unreal expectations are already having to come down a bit so soon.

They stunted.  That's a pretty vanilla aspect to a DL.  You practice that like everything else. I'm pretty sure the Jets even did it practice that week.   It's like a QB pump faking and claiming that is unfair to do in a preseason game.  Claiming that's gameplanning because your DB bought hard on it.

This has been going on for ages on here after a preseason loss. "Oh ... well of course we lost. We were playing basic as basic gets and they were playing Playoffs level ball." EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I think the Jets O-line will be what holds them back this year. They are in much worse shape than us. I think we will be ok once the season actually starts.

Also, if I remember correctly, we scored in the final 2-minute drills with all starters, and they didn’t. Just throwing it out there.

That's probably deliberate.

Bullshit

The producers of a hbo show under a hard deadline working with a 5ish day window isn't editing under the premise of making the carolina panthers look bad.  That's just moronic to even insinuate

I'm getting the Bills vibe from last year with the Jets. They have been the #1 story of the off-season. They added all this talent, but people seem to forget Aaron Rodgers is damn near 40 and for whatever reason his game never lives up to the hype come playoffs.

I just don't see how they can get through the AFC. I'm certainly not picking them over Mahomes or Burrow.

Wish them luck, but I feel the media is over hyping them.

That defense is legit though, top 5 for sure. That goes a long way

Bro they're editors. I've not watched Hard Knocks ever nor the last preseason game but editing things to look more dramatic and/or heroic and to make someone look worse is editing for tv 101.

The producer isn’t working to make the Panthers look bad correct. However, the Jets do have a much heavier hand in what is allowed to be shown and the final edit than in years past.

    • Sounds like the pressure of all the fans wanting him fired might finally be getting to him... That, or Rico said "trade me now if you aren't going to make me the lead back"
    • I have been paying so little attention after losses (and wins, actually, because I'm mildly excited by them), that I missed Dave's seeming change of heart on Rico and Chuba.  Just when I criticized him for not being able to make the tough decisions and wanting to be Mr. Politically Correct nice guy, when asked about the timeshare between Chuba and Rico, he says:   "We cannot ignore the fact that Rico has been exceptional in a couple of games and in the opportunities he's had over the last two weeks. He's made some excellent plays, love the tempo and violence that he's running with. And these are all things we're talking about and working through this week as we look back on these last four games and really taking a snapshot of what's been successful for us. These are conversations that we do definitely have to have."   On basically whether or not it was his job to keep the RBs "happy," DC replied:   "Yeah, that's not the goal," he replied. "The goal is to make sure we put the right guys out there. That's my job. So I really do have to look at that and evaluate it and make the best decision for the Panthers, collectively. And for me, I have to make sure I keep it about the football."   So now all of a sudden, he knows his job. Well, some of you might say that he always knew his job. My response is that he surely wasn't putting it into action. You watch what people do, not what they say. And that even applies here. We'll actually see if his actions match the words of his newfound epiphany pertaining to our two top RBs., something that we saw a couple of weeks ago (or at least a week ago).    https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/10/27/panthers-week-8-dave-canales-rico-dowdle-chuba-hubbard/86923984007/
    • Just about everyone I have ever seen that was a first time HC, mostly successful coordinators, said there was stuff they couldn’t have imagined.  Canales only had one season as a coordinator. A steep learning curve should be expected. Help in the form of a mentor would have been a good idea.
