Look at this play at :13

The ability to read the field, feel the pressure, slide to his left, still keep his eyes down the field, and side arm a pass in between 2 defenders.  It was a close miss because #15 hesitated a bit but plays like that translate, especially as the receivers become more comfortable with Young's style.

Also I know he slipped but my goodness that evade at :49.

If you aren't impressed by Young then I don't know what to tell you.  His game translates to the NFL.  There are few exceptions but you want your QB to be a playmaker and that is what he is.

I don't know what to expect out of him as a rookie.  Not sure his numbers will look great.  But if he continues to show traits like this, then there is no doubt in my mind we are looking at our franchise QB.

I didn't say that. I said he needs to sit and watch. No where did I say he wasn't the future QN of this franchise. I just think watching the game will do him better. If you don't mind watching blow outs that is fine with me. I would just like to see some competitive games. He hasn't shown he is ready to compete yet. You named two plays he made that shows his skills. I am glad he can slide as Brady did. I wished Can had learned that little sidestep to avoid a hit and still be able to keep the eyes focused down field.

What did he do that made you think he's not ready? Throw downfield to covered WRs for INTs? You a big Sam Darnold guy?

only scoring 3 points in two games is not an indication he is ready to lead a team either. If that was the case Corral has more touch downs than Bryce, but Corral isn't playing the same players Bryce has. Shoot even Luton has more touchdowns. I guess voicing a different opinion is not acceptable in this room.

I definitely thought Bryce was ready to start until I witnessed how inept the oline is. I thought coming into the season he had the luxury of a top 10 oline. It appears he doesn't remotely have anything close to that. He's not big enough to have unguarded guys take free shots at him and not suffer permanently from that. I think until these massive problems have some kind of remedy keep him on the bench.

Our oline has not been the 5 we gonna start.  It's been fluid. We trying to evaluate the back ups and see where they fit. We played Chandler at RG A lot last game and I think he is better at LG.  Has BC played if so I missed it? Corbett, Bozeman, Icky and Moton are the guys and Corbett is out still.  The coach for the oline is stellar. He gonna put the best 5 out there, maybe they aren't all available or because we are evaluating the other guys we are seeing some other groupings. Michael Jordan is trash. If I see him on the field I know we phoning it in. Bozeman is rusty.  New QB exchanges and protection off a bit. It will be fine. Icky might be better suited as a RT but he the guy right now. Let it work. Y'all think 5 series between two games makes a game?  Ya gotta get in rhythm.  Games are win and lost on more reps than that. Mingo is a beast. Miles is different than Chubba. Hell Blackshear needs those carries more than him. It will work it self out. Overreacting a bit?

How does him sitting on the bench help?

And what makes you think Andy Dalton is more capable of making the team competitive?

Bryce looked fine, he just needs to build chemistry with the recievers.....hard to do that from the bench. Plus Sanders not playing is hindering him as well. This team week 8 will look totally different than week 1.

What has Bryce done wrong? I’ve seen like two overthrows and both were due to pressure. And I’ve seen one underthrow due to pressure where he couldn’t step up to make the throw. Situations where most passers struggle.

It’s actually been quite impressive that he’s only blatantly misfired on like 2 throws. Everything else has been a timing thing or simply not being on the same page as the receiver.

I don't disagree but between the 1 and 2 picks in last years draft they aren't putting up starting numbers. To me it is the owner who pressuring Bryce to start before he is ready to take command of the team. two to 4 games isn't going to hurt that much. We saw what happen with Allen when he wasn't given time to throw with the OLine troubles we had then. I want Bryce to succeed here, but getting himself killed is not something anyone wants, and teams come the opener are not as easy as they are in preseason.

    • I moved to Atlanta for work, in June 1995. Almost the same for a Panthers fan.  This was pre internet at least for me, and there was no coverage unless we played the Falcons.  As a Panthers fan I hated that because I was super excited we had our own team finally and I was missing it.  I remember going to a bar and watching us beat SF maybe in our first year. But not much chance to watch games.  This prompts me to bitch that an expansion team’s first year was better than anything Tepper has been able to assemble.
    • I get what you're trying to say, but I have seen Tetairoa open a plenty and  Hunter Renfrow open a plenty, but Bryce just misses what are supposed to be routine throws. Bryce's arm isn't Mahomes' arm, and he certainly doesn't have the plus mobility (basically the backyard-ball mentality and athleticism to run around until someone's open) and ability to make throws off platform that Mahomes' does.  We also have at least two TEs that get open on the regular, as well as two RBs that can catch and get open as well. Not to mention that Jalen Coker gets open on the regular when in. I just ain't buying that he doesn't have enough weapons. Legette gets open at times as well, not to mention Tremayne. If Bryce would just time his passes better and do it more consistently, it would open up the offense. His issues, at least in my mind, come down to one main thing: his height. He developed consistently bad mechanics over the years to overcome his inability to see the field, and while he got away with it pre-NFL, in the NFL where guys are a little bigger, a lot faster, and more experienced with decidedly more motivation to consistently do their jobs, Bryce is coming up short.
