Both Chark and Shenault have an injury history it's why both their former teams moved on despite the talent they possess. TMJ is also perpetually banged up. Thielen our #1 is no spring chicken either. Unfortunately we backed ourselves into this corner. It's on Fitterer. Honestly he's very overrated here. Nice guy. Made a few nice picks and moves here and there. But very much unproven. Hopefully this doesn't bite us in the booty and hinder the development of the #1 pick we traded significant assets to draft.

Agree on Fitterer being overrated. If Bryce doesn’t work out he will be done as a GM and probably out of the NFL

I hope he works out bc his failure means more misery for us. But the guy definitely has his rabid clique of fans here that are much in the same mold of past Hurney supporters and Gettleman supporters. Those guys were ultimately terrible but at least had a winning season to backup the "don't you dare slander him" responses. We're still waiting for the first one with Scott at the helm.

They both went to Super Bowls in their first 3 seasons here.

Fitt aint out there injuring these WRs himself you big dumb babies. No we didnt need Hopkins with his price tag at the time and still dont. He wouldnt come here anyway with a new QB with new coaches and a new system. You guys act like we can make anyone come here against their will.

I think he would reconsider since currently he's unemployed.  At the right price I think Hopkins would be a good fit for us.  He's a veteran WR that would be great for Shenault as well as Mingo and TMJ.

The sad part injuries was my main concern in wanting to sign him.

I said we are a WR injury away from that position being really limited from a production standpoint. All I kept hearing was "he would take away reps from the young guys". Now we have multiple injuries at WR and now have to depend on the rookie Mingo and Thielen to carry the load early in the season.smh

It was always a matter of contract cost and length. At the time we were talking a 1 year deal in the 18-20 per year range, plus he was saying he didn't want to play for a team with a rookie QB. That would have taken reps from our young guys with a 1 year rental that had said he didn't want to be here. If he was only here for the $$$, that could end up causing issues for our QB. A lot of potential issues were flying around him.

If we had been able to work out a deal for a few years, things might have been different and we'd be in much better shape than we are now.

I wanted Hopkins and thought he would have been great for BY as long as he genuinely wanted to be here. We wasted money on Chark. I don't know who seriously expected him to play half the season if even that much.

    • FLA showed everyone it’s not about superstars. they bullied the best line in the NHL into obscurity. they played hard, were in the right positions, and ran over everything that got in their way.
    • That’s really not what you said and when I even expressed doubt as to your intentions with the post you doubled down and remained unclear on whether you were trying to drag Dean Smith for whatever reason. You just got the facts wrong, which if you don’t follow the local college programs like you say then maybe you just were mistaken and thought Smith didn’t win championships or have legit superstars, and that is ok, but you just doubled down when my first post was more corrective than anything. I’m not sure what you expect posting objectively false things like “RBA has a lot of wins with nothing to show for it like Dean Smith” (paraphrasing) on a message board with plenty of UNC fans. I’m not taking it as a personal affront, we can agree to disagree, Dean Smith’s legacy fortunately will not be affected by this conversation. Screw the (Florida) Panthers?
    • Bring in the free agents and trades.  Florida is the best team and unless Tulsky makes it happen, it’s more of the same…which isn’t bad…but it’s time to win a goddamn cup.
