I think we can still win games early on though, this isn’t unexpected from Fitt to say but despite the somewhat disappointing preseason I still believe this team can and will win the division (and do so with a solid winning record, 10+ wins). 4-4 after 8 then 6-3 in the last 9 is my guess

I never took issue with you saying that we're going to win X amount of games, I just disagree with you that it should be some litmus test on Fitterer and company's future viability.

When you misfire in hiring a coach, there is a price to pay.

When you hire a disaster as a head coach, that price goes up.

When you hire a disaster as a head coach and then give him complete control, that price increases again, and it goes up a lot.

We are lucky this thing isn't being torn down to the studs after doing the third.

Wilks deserves a lot of credit for stabilizing things last year, and that is also because The Process was sent packing early in the year.  But, the roster was already built by then, so even in the process of stabilizing things he was making lemonade.

That's being a person of honor.

I get your point for sure.  But, I simply don’t see any way Fitt wasn’t help make the calls.  A few seconds of video showing Rhule discuss the selection isn’t enough to convince me.  I imagine Fitt worked with the team to narrow down a few choices at each pick.  Rhule then had the latitude to pick from that list.  No way the GM had zero control over who we selected.  And his comments today, IMO, affirm that.

This team is way too talented to have low expectations.  Don't really want to hear about learning curve for Bryce either.  This is a playoff roster with even average QB play considering how terrible the NFCS is.

Thank you. Fitter sounds like a bitch with this. They’ve been rebuilding since 2015

Im so sick of Tepper. This is clearly coming from him. Fitt is not the guy to blame we are in this situation because of Tepper. The expectations have always been low since he took over the franchise. This guy needs to sell the team.

Keep Pounding is no longer a thing in the Carolina's. Fans are saying the season is over before it even starts. This is our culture now. It's now cool to say we are years away from making noise.

2027 will be our year!

Just because you’re unable to view the team objectively and think we are legitimate contenders this year doesn’t mean expectations are low moving forward when people speak in realities.

Been trying to tell you this for months but you just keep sticking your head back in the sand trying to ignore facts.

The offense is very depleted with the loss of CMC and DJ, and it wasn't that good even with them. You can't subtract those two players and add what we did and expect good results. The WR corps is obviously not good enough, and the o-line looks like it's going to have pass blocking issues. That means get ready for 13 point games on our side whenever we play a good team.

Having said that, we're going to have to take our medicine now in the hopes that Young can be the type of QB we can win the SB with. It's all about the future for the time being. Yes we will enjoy the season, but we're obviously not headed to the playoffs. It's fun to be positive and anything can happen, but I just don't see a good season coming up.

We're in need of a #1 WR badly. Young needs a player who can get separation and win 50/50 balls. A dominant receiver is not on our roster. That means we will have to scheme our receivers open, or throw them open. That puts pressure on Young and the coaching staff, and you don't want that. But we didn't secure a #1 WR in free agency, so now we're going to struggle. it's going to be tough and frustrating, but it's been that way for so long that it won't be a shock.

Yes lower your expectations. Asking Young to drag this offense down the field as a rookie is going to be painful. The team will be built up from here to fit Young and our coaches. That's why I want those 1st round picks for Burns so badly. But it is what it is now. We'll need to hit free agency hard next season.

    • It’s like being on the Flyers broadcast team feed so far
    • Boy the flyers look good early. Lots of bad plays and slow start by our team. Hope that changes before the score changes.
    • I guess I should have stipulated outside the sacred cow.   I complained from year one that Bryce should compete for and win the starting job on his own merit but no he was just handed it. I have been right there with everyone that wants competition.  But I don’t really have a huge problem with it for this season the way it has gone because where are the viable people we don’t have to trade for? I actually am okay with tiny hands Pickett because he is so close to Bryce arm strength wise and to be honest, skill wise. Probably. And it is only a one year deal.  That also takes into account that the QB class is looking stacked next year and if Young fails miserably then we get either a reset or a real competition and there will be more guys that I would like looking at in the FA QB class next year as well.    I sort of accept where we are this year and look at it as another treading water year (at QB). I just want to get to next year with some clarity. More than anything. And they did empty out the room (behind him anyway). Again, who was really there for us?  And I know it would not be a true competition at this point anyway. They are giving him the year, like it or not.    Also I don’t give a poo about winning games IF he sucks and or goes down after sucking because draft position and that stacked QB class.  And I want out from under him So Bad.     So I guess it is several factors that lessen my anxiety over his backup this particular season.    I am not trying to convince anyone, but you asked. That’s how I look at it.
