Near 2017 end of season levels of bad. Cam Newton was incredible being able to make something out of those jags.

Hoping Bryce Young finds some of that magic too. 

Cam did still have Olsen and CMC that year, both of whom were over 100 receiving in the playoff game. The WRs sucked, especially after trading KB and Funchess getting hurt. Lol, makes me laugh saying that but KB was unfortunately still better than the crap we had at the end of that year.

It’s also funny to see you talk about the WRs like that because the optimism was overflowing not that long ago about our WRs this year. I still wish we did the Burns trade because with Kupp starting the year on IR, that 2024 Rams pick has a decent chance of turning into Harrison Jr. Bryce needs serious weapons. Heck, pick 36 could have netted us a TE like La Porta with a small trade up.

      Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.

      After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...

      My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
