He looks scared AND laid back??? Pick one, doofus. These threads are incredibly tiresome.

Young looks "Frail" yet the guy you're hyping up is the one who couldn't finish the game.

yep, probably trying to look laid back because he was scared and overwhelmed. like I said, not in a good way. maybe there is a better word.

Richardson couldn't finish the game because he put the team on his back and was trying to will them to a win like a warrior. Bryce got rag dolled on his sack, if he didn't throw so many dirt balls and throw aways when we need him to push it, he might not make it through a full game...

He got baited twice by one of the best safeties in the league. He's a rookie QB with receivers who struggle to create separation down the field but overall, he looked like he belongs, but he'll need time to fully adjust to the NFL game and that's alright. Expecting him to come out of the gate and be elite was always a pipe dream. Today's performance will definitely be a good learning experience for him.

He looked like Clausen to me. Don’t think he’s gonna be scaring anyone. Made two of the worst throws right to a safety that I’ve ever seen. Extremely conservative and didn’t seem to care whether he played well or played like dogshit.  Not a good trait for QB1.

For now, you can rank Young on a list of debut performances. He'll be extremely low on the list, but you can have some honesty with that measure.

He is definitely among the bottom of Panthers QBs in their debut. Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield had better debuts.

Young performed as I expected.

I strongly disagree.  He did a great job going through his progressions and sensing when time was up and needed to move to avoid pressure. If you were listening to Jake Delhomme on the radio during the game, Jake was gushing in his praise for BY.  Yes both of the interceptions were on him, but I believe he will learn to avoid repeating.  My only compaint is he needs to work on his deep ball accuracy.

I've seen the last thing a few times but I only saw him throw two deep balls? The one could have been complete if lazy ass TMJ didn't stop running his route. Other one he missed for sure.

Agreed. He overthrew what would have been a 99 yard TD to Mingo. The overthrow to TMJ was on TMJ slowing down mid route.

Not good

2 bad ints and a number of innacurate throws in key situations.

Cam blew me away in his debut and Bryce just played like any typical 2nd 3rd 4th round rookie QB in terms of the results he left on the field .

It wasn't horrible? I guess but he didn't do anything to justify that trade up to 1.

I'll be so livid if we end up giving the Bears a top 10 pick and Bryce ends up being Mediocre.

Its early but game 1 was not encouraging.

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
