I mean, I'm not complaining. I think it was smart player management IMO. It's just dumb to have your best players out there when you're out of contention if they're already banged up. It's a different story if you're fighting for a playoff berth.

I agree with it and it’s likely why 2022 CMC was all of a sudden healthy all year.

Horn doesn’t seem to be in the same bucket yet since he’s 3 for 3 for not being healthy. Hopefully, this isn’t a multi-gamer and he proves us wrong but none of us were surprised when he got hurt in camp and hurt again yesterday. Just imagine having Parsons on the opposite side of Burns or having Slater at LT so we could have used pick 6 on Garrett Wilson instead of Iky or having Surtain as a healthy CB. Out of the 4 “choices” we had at Horn’s pick, we seemed to have picked the worst one.

So still no update on the severity of the injury?...why does it seem like our team takes so long to report these things where other teams provide updates almost right away? Does this mean it's not a severe injury?

It's because they dont have to today... I believe tomorrow they have to though

It's just weird to see other teams report their injuries especially when significant versus p**** footing around it like our organization does

This organization thinks they need to keep everything close to the vest because other teams are trying sooooo hard to get a competitive advantage over these bums lol

So Fitts should be fired for drafting a shut down corner.

Not a take I would have expected even from the huddle.

It was arguably a bad pick at the time simply due to team needs, and it's now compounding by his lack of availability. The team is accountable for the former, and the latter just makes it appear that much worse.

We needed a corner. If he wasn't on the roster,  we'd need another corner.  So your argument that he didn't fill a need just doesn't hold a drop of water.

ThIs in the NFL.  He didn't have a history of injuries, so there was zero red flags.

Just seems to me you and others were just waiting for any injury to happen to harp more on him. I find that quite amusing that CB's often struggle with minor injuries. That's what this one is. A soft tissue injury that is extremely common throughout the league when real games start getting played.

It does suck not to have such a great talent on the field. That's aways the case when a stud player gets hurt.  Once again this is the NFL.

Perhaps you should watch table tennis instead.

This x100

i followed horn his entire college career and every gamecock who is also miserable enough to be a panther fan is surprised at how his professional career has gone so far. Injuries happen, but this is a bizarre run of random things popping up left and right for a guy who had no prior injury history

    • They saw something they liked with Austin Corbett.  I'm not sure if that's the answer, but we'll see. I was hoping they would grab a center, especially the kid out of WVA.  He seemed like a real dawg. So long as the Panthers are better than last year, I'll be satisfied.  I mean, we had the shortest time in the lead in the league and won two games.  Let's see that improvement!
    • I doubt he gets all the reps and snaps in preseason. But yeah, the kid better ball or things will get ugly quickly.
    • i don't see it as an overt neglect of the OL. They had several priorities they felt they had a bigger need to address and available options to take care of them. i would have liked to see us draft an OC, but not sure i'd want that rookie starting, esp. day 1. of course it depends on who it was. agree with it or not, their biggest priority has been on getting BY playmakers, and they got those.  those that have pointed out that FA period isn't over and cuts are likely coming are correct, the roster as is right now won't be what we see day 1. lots of time to pick one up...if they plan to. one thing to consider, they may actually like the idea of Corbett playing there. and, as hard as it might be to consider, that might actually be the right call. and having BC as the backup might just be enough. i don't know. i'm just going to sit back and watch it all unfold and be excited that we have those big OGs on either side of whoever we have starting at OC and we'll be a lot better for it. another thing to consider, BY might just be comfortable with Corbett already there. it's important that the QB feel confident in and have a bit of a connection with the OC.  either way, despite my being all in on Corbett as center, wishing that we had drafted someone, and hoping that we get someone in FA...i'm not upset or bothered by it. the team is in a lot better shape overall than last year going into the season and i feel good about the moves they have made so far. looking forward to what they do the rest of this offseason and what they do going into next year.
