How much do you think Tepper influenced "the pick"

All I know is ever since he's been owner we've been complete chit. He reminds me of every financial CEO that's existed. He thinks he knows everything about everything. Complete pompous prick. The reality is he clearly knows nothing about football. Worst thing to ever happen to the Panthers.

I think you guys waste way too much of your time worried about Tepper. Every single one of the Panthers failures plays out on the field, and he is the least replaceable person out of everyone in this organization.

The point is to discover what is the issue so we know if we should cease paying attention to this team on Sundays and even during the week. Fans have next to no control over anything so whether or not you could fire Tepper is a moot point.

Tepper has been QB chasing since 2020. Wilks and Darnold finally figured something out last year and, for the first time under Tepper, looked like a competent NFL program.

So the team doubles down, right? WRONG. We let Darnold go. Like Foreman go. Trade DJ Moore away. Trade a future 1st and 2nd away, bring in a whole new staff and draft a 5'10 Wunderkind at QB when trading up for QB's in the 1st round has been a failure for everyone going back at least a decade and the list of successful 5'10 NFL QB's can be counted with one or two fingers.

The only plausible explanation is that Tepper was pushing to make the Panthers relevant to national media today, rather than building a sustainable future for tomorrow.

I said it before rhe draft and I'll say it again now, you Trade up in the 1st for guys like Will Anderson Jr., Jalen Carter, or Anthony Richardson. Physical freaks of nature with the adequate mental aspect to be successful in the league.

We could've taken Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the 5th and traded down in the 1st. I feel like the ceiling for DTR and Young are probably similar. But if you're drafting a rookie and want to start and win with them right away, they better have played at least three seasons in college but preferably more.

At any rate, it doesn't matter now. All of us who were "doubters" or "negative" were just immune to the Panthers propaganda machine while the rest of you showed how gullible you can be.

I blame the NFL for forcing one of its boys here instead of Ben Navarro, because he wasn't enough of a rich scumbag. As far as who dictated the draft picks, what difference does that make now? We have who we have.

    • If the losses were him not stepping up in key situations then it'd be a disappointment.
    • I'm well versed in the minutiea of the Canes radio broadcast system... lol I've been back in WNC for about 15 years now. And, until very recently, we would only get Predators games on the RSNs out here. So, radio was the only option for me to keep up with the team. These were the dark years, too. Maybe, once a year, you'd get to see us get smashed on national TV by some original 6 powerhouse. If you were really lucky, Jeff Skinner would bless you with one of his absolutely stunning pirouette passes to nowhere, before Wardo toppled over off his head, giving up a goal on his 70th shot faced that night for an inspiring 1-0 loss. But, that story sounds a whole lot cooler when Chuck Kaiton is telling it to you in real-time with the raspy drawl of a calving heifer! Before TuneIn or the Canes apps even existed, I used to have to find the one spot out in the back yard, where the hills and trees parted just right, that I could pickup 730(?)AM The Buzz all the way out in Catawba county. I'd sit in the shadow of the mighty Appalachians, staring out at the stars and getting high with stray cats, while being serenaded by the worst hockey you've never seen played in your life. That all, finally, started to change around the time TD bought the team. Part of that is due to the new NHL TV contracts and the constant reorganization of the RSNs themselves. Part, was me breaking up with that feral cat and moving to LKN to escape all the painful memories. The march of progress, and all that... I will say though, as much as I've criticized Dundon and as much as I loathe the existence of billionaires on principle, he has done an exceptional job of improving the fan experience, on the whole. Working with the league to expand the coverage map and bringing in outdoor games and all-star weeks has been huge. But, improving the quality on the ice (and of the ice) for all levels of hockey across the state has been even bigger! I forgot where I was going with all this, but... I'll still never forgive him for retiring Chuck K, though! HEY, HEY, WHADDYA SAY!!!!
