What do you feel like Bryce Young's ceiling is, as of now?

Recommended Posts

Too early to call, kid still hasn’t settled in, looks shook out there. Seems he’s playing scared instead of with the quiet confidence we were sold, er, told he had.. if he can settle down, step up into & not straight away from pressure then he could do something great..

Or, we really screwed the seemingly prodigal pooch…

Bryce hasn’t had time to throw and he has very mid WRs at best. Even so, he completed 19 straight passes in his 3rd game. He has potential to be very good if protected. No QB at any level will succeed without time to operate.

lol, please tell me you're not bragging about a QB who can complete a string of screen passes and dump offs, as the majority of those 19 were balls thrown at the LOS.

We probably won’t figure out cause I have have high doubts we can surround him, let alone other players on the roster with the resources and coaching to get the best from them.

I think he can be what Nick foles was from his better years if the right talent is added, drew Bree’s is a stretch, division rivals or not Bree’s is not something that may ever be replicated, especially at that size

20th best QB in the league

He's never going to be an elite QB in this league, he just doesn't have the physical traits to be so, but if he gets stronger he can still figure it out and be an average starter.  Someone who doesn't stick with the team that drafts him but bounces around as an occasional starter, the Bridgewater type.

But that's legit what I think his potential ceiling is, personally I think he's a bust, I felt that and said as much before the draft, but got on board when we took him and tried to get hyped about his "super brain" that we kept hearing about.  But seeing him out there on an NFL field, it just looks like his game isn't going to translate to this level, his speed and strength worked in college, but it won't here and all my pre-draft concerns are showing clear as day.

This is a carbon copy of my thought process from pre draft til now.

    • Aho…come out and prove me wrong boy.
    • I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.  He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said: "Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."  That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway. Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay! In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.
    • I have no doubt the Canes will come out like gangbusters, huge bounce back from game one - my only concern is Freddie, if he lets in a couple of softies and Dobes stays hot we could be in trouble.
