Through 6 games, Panthers would lead the NFC South in following categories

1. Points scored (112)

2. Points against (186)

You  look at our board and we focus so much on offensive problems but our defense has been extremely poor

My rebuttal is the terrible offense has put our defense in some very bad spots and they’re worn out by the 3rd and 4th quarter when most of the opponent’s points get piled on.

I think we can just say the team has not played complimentary football.  It's so much about momentum and it seems when our defense needs the offense to maintain a drive or two,  they're unable to do.  I think since the defensive injuries it's mostly been defense that is unable to create the stops when they're really needed.

This is definitely part of it.  We have at least 14 points scored by the defense Franklin at Minnesota and Hill this past Sunday as well.  Plus we have been turning it over regularly aside from last game.  Is also doesn't help that our best CB, both Safeties, and MLB have been injured most of the season.

Good points on the defensive scores.

I stopped watching this team at halftime of the Lions game, but until then, I felt all the teams’ problems were around some awful and costly fumbles (by Bryce / Miles), inability to commit to the run (play calling), and panicked pocket presence by Bryce.

When you lose half of your defensive starters and you had no defensive depth to begin with, it makes sense. The defense looked pretty good prior to the Lions game (outside of the Seahawks game). Not to mention I feel like we have had about 8-10 turnovers which have given the other team a TD or the ball inside our 20 yard line.

Also, I would say about 1/3 of our points scored have come in garbage time or against prevent defenses.

At the end of the day, both units have been absolutely terrible.

Bad offense hurts the defense.

An offense that can't score, can't get first downs, can't move the ball, and can't keep on the field all cripples a defense, especially over the course of a game. The longer the offensive ineptitude goes on, the worse the defense does.

    • I would take the giants roster over Panthers. Lawrence, 3 OLB/DEs, Thomas, and nabers. Lawrence is better than dbrown and Thomas is better than icky. Panthers don't have one edge that would start over those 3 not matter how people feel about burns. Id believe....I think I would take nabers over the whole WR group....Id need to think about, but I feel it is right or 50/50..... Now after the top 10, Panthers may have claim. Im just not that big of a NFL fan like past time to make a good case. I'd just take giants on their top talent.    I will say this, if BY carries this team to the playoffs, he alone would flip this.
    • Looks like he ran out of real estate.  He had 5 total TDs. As good as we have ever seen in Carolina? Looks like he is the only QB in our history with 3 passing and 2 rushing TDs and he tied a single game record of 5 TDs in one game with Cam and Beurlein.  Throw in his 73.4% completions and zero turnovers, literally the ONLY thing you could argue against statistically is total yardage which was only 275.  You may not agree with that statement (not 100% sure I do), but it's really not THAT wild...
