I'm outside the carolinas too and only give a poo about the Panthers, Sunday Ticket is a huge ripoff and I feel like such a huge sucker for paying for it especially a year like this where we suck. Through comcast I get the nhl & nba combo package which I only use for Hornets and Canes for like $150 a year, which is very reasonable. I think I could add baseball to that for cheap but don't care about it. NFL is the only league fuging over their customers like this but unless we start speaking with our wallets collectively nothing will change and I'm guilty of paying for sunday ticket this year and probably will be a dumbass next year and do it too.

I refuse to pay for it, but understand why you would. It really is a scam by making you pay for every single out of market game. It’s the same as cable companies making you pay for the history channel when you really only want espn.

Oh, I agree. It's not going to happen. I do find it curious how much stringent capitalists can openly embrace a system that is outright socialist though. It's an interesting phenomenon.

Why? They are all part of the same business and rely on each other to survive.

Is it weird that each McDonald’s franchise owner isn’t trying to outcompete and shut down the other franchise down the street?

I mean, they give you a lot worse than the History Channel.  Point taken though.  But maybe tune in to the history channel instead of a Panther game and you might just be like.....History Channel ain't that bad lol.   Or maybe that comes in time and you ain't old enough yet lol.

I used history channel as an example. I would actually pay for this history channel, one of my favorites.

They would be if the franchise themselves didn't build in protections. What they've started to do more and more in recent years is requiring you not to just buy one location but to buy an entire region.

I'm just not a fan of the illegal streaming -- not due to some moral stance, just I've never had it be reliable and when I want to watch a sporting event I want to sit down and enjoy it not get pissed because it freezes up and I miss plays, dealing with ads, etc. Before I started using sunday ticket a couple years ago I just went to bars every sunday for Panthers games but that wound up being a serious hassle and more expensive than paying for sunday ticket and beers/grilling at home. I was fortunate to borrow a college student's email for that before youtube bought the rights, I think it was like $150 for the student package which was better, but youtube tv I think I paid $300, maybe $400, don't remember

Who said anything about illegal streaming lol.

I do hear all you need is a little patience, flexibility on your definition of “live”, and a good ad blocker.

YouTube is slated to lose $1.27b each year running Sunday Ticket.  ($570m in revenue, $1.77b in NFL fees)

its kind of amazing how most of the streaming services keep taking on massive amounts of debt...they just raise the prices every year and layoff a quarter of their staff like clockwork

Whats the most you would pay for an single game on TV?  Assume its the same broadcast with the same commercials.

Id love an a la carte option but honestly I dont know that Id pay more than ~20 bucks per game which is pretty much what Sunday Ticket breaks down to.

Yeah but let’s say you get 4-5 games per season based on the local coverage of your area.  That’s $80-100 saved even at $20/game if you’re watching every game of the season.

    • If we went LB at 19, the LB at 51 better be head and shoulders the BPA on our board. I was thinking more like 1st or 2nd and then double dipping in the mid-rounda But yeah, if we went LB back to back jn the 1st and 2nd and they turned out like Star and Short I don't think anyone would be complaining. Well, not many anyway. There's always gonna be a few no matter what. LOL
    • I have been doing a bunch of mock drafts and this one interesting scenario popped up that made me question myself. I know our needs edge, mike, OT,wr, and secondary. This situation Love fell to 19 and I know we don't NEED a RB. But if we stay out at 19(I don't think we do) I don't think I could say no to love. If this team really believes in BPA and love is there at 19 who realistic is better than love at this point? Love is a top 5 talent, there is no akeem messador or Caleb banks or Kenyon Sadiq type player I think I would rather have than love. He would make Bryce life much easier, he's a homerun threat on a offense that lacks speed. He's essentially modern day Reggie bush to me and I think he could play alongside Chubba on passing down potentially as a slot and be the speed threat we really need. I think it's a bit crazy but I would be willing to wait til the second round and see who falls at edge(I think we land Chubb or loyd in free agency) maybe chase TJ parker if he falls or Rodriguez or golliday in the second/third. What say you?
