I think things would be a little different. But it’s pointless to assume at this point one way or the other.

They really should've postponed this. Those are two of our best ever. They deserve better than being "honored" in front of a half empty stadium consisting of malcontents, opposing fans, and folks who fell into free tickets.

CJ was my qb1

I’m sure he was for a lot of fans who evaluate QBs as a hobby and not a job. The franchise had the opportunity to interview teammates and coaches of both players, sent professionals to evaluate live action, and interview the players themselves. We picked Bryce. It’s still way too early to make any sort of proclamation about either QB.

And that’s what the professionals are saying. I’ll stick to listening to them.

No, no, no. You need to keep up with the current theory that was pulled out of some people's asses that Young was forced on the team by Tepper and maybe Fitt while everyone else wanted Stroud.

Our professionals also drafted Mingo with significantly better and more productive WRs available. And DJ Johnson. And TMJ. And traded away DJ Moore. I’m rooting for Bryce to be the franchise like I do every week but our current scouting departments and folks who make the calls have a very low success rate going for them right now. We went from 7 wins to 0 so far this season. The next four games are ultra winnable and will likely change the narrative around here or seal it going into next season.

And our third and fourth from last year are not even on the roster.   If you trust this FO is going to get a pick right then god bless you.

I won’t fault them for the trades they made to go get the QB they wanted. Was it the right call? Too early to say. What that did signify was a willingness to take risks to move up for a franchise qb. That would have never happened under the previous ownership and front office. I honestly don’t care if we win. I just won’t to see Bryce continue to develop and if he turns out to be a franchise qb, an adaptation from he coaching staff - because they are doing him no favors.

    • Yes, he's a tier above them, but you also touched on the money side of it.  With T-Mac locked in as our #1 on a rookie contract for a few more years, I'd much rather use that money that would be needed for DJ on our defense and develop Coker into our #2.   Especially given his contract situation as an UDFA, as his contract is up at the end of this year but we can keep him around for a 3rd team controlled year on the real cheap.  Which means we probably could get him to sign a very reasonable extension this offseason to give him a little more money while giving us a bargain contract for what he provides. DJ's contract is north of $20 million for the next 5 years, why pay that for your #2 WR with the needs we have on defense and you have guys like Coker, XL, and Horn on rookie contracts who very well could combine to be a serviceable 2-4 WRs behind a stud in T-mac? I love DJ and he'd be a great fit on this team as our #2, but the money side of it just makes absolutely zero sense, that's all it comes down to for me on this one. And no, I don't see the Bears wanting XL back in that trade, because they drafted Burden, who is essentially a better version of what XL provides, a player you want to get the ball into their hands and let them go to work.
    • I didnt see that many bad calls in the panthers cowboys game, but the chiefs especially in the playoffs were getting every single call they could get then the refs when it didnt matter would throw a call towards the other teams.  That I believe was the taylor swift effect.   But its crazy just thinking about how easy it is to change a game.  You dont need but a single ref to make a few close calls go towards one team over the other and in the nfl that is the game.
    • I don't think it's unrealistically blaming Bryce Young......to say has been a reason, sometimes a big one, in why our pass offense overall has been extremely week over the past 3 collective seasons.  I think that bothering anyone, is just being overly invested in some Bryce Young argument.  It's just a reality.
