Do we have a scouting problem?

Have never gotten it together since Beane/Gregory/Koncz departed.

We just sat around and watched Brandon Beane go to Buffalo and turn a punchline of a franchise into a heavyweight in the AFC.  Sometimes you just have to laugh at how this franchise has always done the most perfectly wrong thing at every opportunity.

Even the Bills have struggled with drafting, that's a reason why they are mediocre

We need someone from the Baltimore/Pittsburgh/Philly tree, they are almost always consistently good drafting and talent evaluators

Seattle too, but too much PTSD with failed Fitterer

At best, the GM is not good at his job and at worst, he's not good at his job and he's a yes-man for the owner.

At best, the owner stays hands-off but hires people who suck at their jobs. At worst (most likely),  the owner and his wife play Owner, General Manager, Director of Football Operations, Scouting Director and Player Personnel Director.

There's been a ton of turnover in the scouting department since Tepper bought the team. When Rhule was hired they let go a ton from scouting

That’s what I remember too.  Are our talent evaluators Rhule’s guys from Temple and Baylor??  If so, fire them instantly and demand reparations for the past 4 years.

I work as a data analyst but I have worked in warehouses, as a dispatcher, and as project manager. One of the worst things you can do is take numbers at face value without looking at the context.

I think we’ve tried to do a money ball approach to offensive weapons this year . That accumulated with the worst play designs in the league and an Oline that can’t block poo has put us where we are.

Most are in their 3rd year with the team, don't think they are from Temple or Baylor though. Quite a few had previous professional experience

    • Why are most NFL refs senior citizens lol
    • I can't speak to the sample size on the double ACL tears, I could look into it but I am unsure about the quality of data I am able to find. Anecdotally, I don't think that is common for sure.  Well one giant red flag for Dobbins is that of the 3-5 serious injuries he has had in his NFL career, 100% of them have been the same leg. That's not good and it doesn't bode well for his longevity at all. As I have said several hundred times in this forum(in this case it will be in regards to Thomas Davis), outliers are memorable for a reason....because they are outliers. You don't base your decision making on outliers. That's.....stupid. I am also not high on Etienne but he does play special teams and Brooks does not. Currently, I couldn't blame anyone in the FO for choosing a 3rd string RB that can play special teams and has actually played more than 23 career snaps in the NFL in 2+ seasons.  I am not advocating for cutting Brooks but I don't think it's a player I would consider for anything other than a 3rd string role(and likely competing for it, at that) if I am building a roster for 2026. It's not like they are going to get to see him at 100% in 2026.
    • I'm not going to argue against black helmets, but love our silver helmets. No one has anything similar. If you took all the logos off all 32 team's helmets, you could pick out our helmet easy.
