Does anyone know why DT was so infatuated with Young? Why he liked him over stroud? Its obvious he preferred him but i’m not sure why…

Guys like Tepper are spread sheet warriors, buying companies on PE ratios, earnings, EBITDA, etc, he uses his analysis more than his "gut"

His analysis with that dumb S2 report showed Young as an "elite" player

If you would use your eyes and just watched Young dice up Georgia, you knew he was pro ready.

Alabama SEVERELY masked Bryce Young, they didn't win because of him, they won WITH him, put Young at UCLA or Duke and he doesn't elevate either program.

I think Tepper thought the S2 test was some kind of QB evaluation cheat tool and he convinced himself that QB was such a cerebral position that actual physical talent took a distant backseat to mental ability. Unfortunately, there are physical prerequisites. There are plenty of guys who weren't very good QBs as players who have become very good coaches. It wasn't a lack of mental ability, they didn't have the physical ability.

the better and bigger question is why does it matter what someone with zero football experience ‘prefers’?

the problem with Tepper isn’t what he prefers it’s that is that he thinks he matters and his opinion has value despite absolutely zero knowledge or experience

Alabama better this year without Young. Actually he was one of the worst from a win/loss title perspective of all Saban's qbs.

Saban is a top 2 or 3 all time college coach. The guy knows how to get players ready to win college football games.  QB in the NFL is a completely different animal.

He's a square and quiet.

Tepper wants a certain image and Bryce fits it.

Complete opposite of Cam Newton. He was flashy with a funky hairstyle. Young is a choir boy, polite, and not loud.

Unfortunately, that's not enough to play and win in the NFL

    • Idk man, I think it’s necessary.  There’s people working 9-5s everyday that get told poo about what they aren’t and what they’re not capable of and they’re working for scraps.  These guys are making millions.  People are watching and invested because their team and fandom is a part of their identity and a big source of pride.  When someone like Bryce comes in and is given chance after chance after chance after proving he is not worthy of the position he’s being gifted, and he continues to be the biggest reason above any that we are losing, yeah…  I think it’s fair to call a spade a spade.  Am I saying Bryce the person is trash?  Bryce the person is a piece of poo?  Absolutely not.     I came up in an era, especially in basketball, where if you were fuging up people heckled the poo out of you.  I played in rec leagues as a teen where the fuging parents were calling kids trash and yelling poo like “TURNOVER!!!  TURNOVER!!!”  “CANT DRIBBLE!”  “CANT SHOOT!”  And that’s adults screaming that poo to kids like we were in the fuging Rucker lol.🤣🤣🤣  I went on to play basketball at a collegiate level and with professional players in different settings.  What those experiences as a kid taught me was to see if there is any merit to what people are saying, and if there is, then work my ass off til they can’t say that anymore.  Come back better, tougher, harder.  And I did.  If kids can figure that poo out, an adult calling another adult who is bad at his job while making millions and millions of dollars will be just fine.
    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
