I think people want Fitt gone too. This makes it look like Reich/staff is just the scapegoat.

I think people just want something to bitch about.

All you hear today is “the dysfunction of the Panthers” due to the third head coach firing since Tepper bought the team.

Should Rivers’s firing be counted towards the dysfunction when everyone wanted Rivera fired even before he was?

Should the Rhule hiring be counted towards the dysfunction when he was one of the hot names on the coaching carousel that year? Should Rhule’s firing count when everyone wanted him fired the off-season before he was fired?

Does Reich’s firing now mean dysfunction when, again, people have been clamoring for it for weeks?

What’s the point of keeping Reich around if a firing is inevitable? Why not rip off the band-aid and start the recovery process?

This fan base, and especially this board, just want something to bitch about. The great thing for them is they get to bitch with hindsight.

Not going to hold any ill will toward Reich. Just didn't work out. What is most demoralizing is that I'm not sure there's any way out of this downward spiral in the near term because the root problem may be at the very top.

Rewatched a blip from the 1st round draft presser I caught something that should have been more obvious at the time.

Joe Person asked how Frank dealt with needing more convincing of Bryce because of his size preferences...Frank answered that "It wasn't that I needed convincing" and that it was about how he was "committed to the process"..but what he referenced, wasn't himself turning in favor on Bryce, rather, that the entire scouting department had a moment in the room where Scott asked them and they were all unanimous with Bryce. "And Bryce was their guy, and that was great for me to hear" He goes on to say general superlatives and that Scott told him to just take their time.  Eventually he said they watched tape and Bryce was "the best player", but man, reading between the lines, you can tell.  The coaches had to be convinced.  The scouting room didn't.

    • Thin sliced roast beef, provolone, and roasted bell peppers on a toasted sub roll.  At least one thing is going right today. I don't trust anyone who's never put Bugles on their fingertips to make witch fingers.
    • But yeh,  Bryce is the only problem on this sorry excuse of a team. You could put Tom Brady on this team and we would still suck . Worst part is Tepper and his various band of clowns have been trying to build a competitive team for 7 freaking years and are no closer now than when it all started.
    • Regardless of the trade and where he was picked, Bryce actively created deception. He wore a hoodie to the combine and was 15 lbs heavier because he packed on water weight because he didnt weigh near 200 lbs. He didn't participate in drills in a wide open 4 way, really 3, QB bid. Then there was all this hype over the S2 test that he had been practicing that we've never heard about in the draft process since. Does anyone think it was an accident Stroud's score on the S2 was released? Stroud said forget the score, watch his tape. Wonder why. There was a whole bunch of shady poo going on surrounding Bryce pre draft, and I for one, find it all a little too convenient.  Just my opinion, but he was a used car salesman that used some armor all and a wash n wax and maybe a set of white walls then schmoozed his way at dinner with Dave and Nicole and sold them that he was a super savant.  There was a whole lot of BS swirling around the BY hype train and he was a full fledged participant. Frank didn't want Bryce, he wanted Stroud. A new head coach does not pick a QB he has to go design a brand new offense around unless that guy is a generationaltalent, which Bryce was most definitely not. He picks the guy that best fits what he does and that was Stroud. This was Dave and Nicole's pick and they fuged this team like they've done over and over again since they've been here. They fell for use car salesman Rhule, then used car salesman Bryce and company. And the fans got stuck with the 4 years of payments on a car less reliable than Al Bundy's Dodge.
