Fields isn’t great but damn sure is better than Bryce. Bears use that #1 on a QB right?

I wouldn’t. Fields isn’t their problem. He could be as good or better than Hurts. Keep building around him. I’m not sure Caleb Williams or Drake Maye are upgrades.

Your friendly reminder we could have drafted Justin Fields. Imagine him in the gun with CMC one side and DJ Moore on the other….Fitt is the real problem here.

Not just that, but Fitt also admitted to turning down trade offers at the draft bc they wanted Horn so bad.  Two really compelling options at our disposal, line needs,QB needs, and we went DB.

At this point, you take a deep breath. Find a competent person to run the franchise -- Belichick, Harbaugh (WHOEVER, I don't know who that magic person is. It's not Fitterer). Then, hire a coach. Again, Belichick, Harbaugh, WHOEVER.

Then, draft the best player available in the second.

Point: Don't panic and draft at QB in the second round. There won't be one.

Yes, Maye and Williams are upgrades. Why? Because Fields' body won't hold up. I said that before he was drafted. As big a person as Cam was, he also had a short career.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
