Justin, it’s hard, at this point, to envision very many people surviving in Carolina after how this season has gone. I think Fitterer is a solid general manager, and he’s been on the job for only three years, which is a short period over which to evaluate someone in his spot.

That said, there was a little tell in how owner David Tepper handled the firing of Frank Reich that can give a little insight into where he might take his franchise next. Tepper could’ve used the opportunity to audition Thomas Brown or Ejiro Evero for the job. Instead, he turned to special teams coordinator Chris Tabor. Part of that is it’s what’s least disruptive to the staff in-season. But another could be that it made what happened last year less likely.

And that’s not to say Tepper didn’t want his team to catch fire like it did under Steve Wilks last year. Instead, it could mean Tepper was looking ahead toward blowing things up and didn’t want to be under pressure, again, to elevate an interim coach to full-time status. If he then had his eye on starting over with the coaching staff, it stands to reason Tepper may well want to turn the page in a more complete way on his football operation.

If he does that, yes, Peters would be a good candidate, as someone who has interviewed there before and has experience going to Super Bowls with the Patriots, Broncos and 49ers through his two-decade career as a personnel man.

Personally still don't believe he'll leave his "dream job" (especially not for an organization as dysfunctional as ours) but you never know.

I agree in doubting he’ll leave. We’re not attracting any Tier 1 names (coach or GM) unless Tepper makes a concerted effort to assure candidates that he’ll be significantly more hands off this go around and let the football staff do their thing, which I don’t think he will.

It is when we've progressively gotten worse and his draft picks and major free agent additions look awful. I'd say it might be too soon if we were making smart moves in free agency with draft picks showing promise but if that was the case we wouldn't be the worst team in the league in his third year.

The only way a high quality prospect like that would come here is a massive contract, a deal where they get everything they want control wise and the ability to do whatever they want with the team.

I have a hard time seeing Tepper allow that let alone let it happen without fugging it up.

      This is a question.  Could Coby White be a solid replacement for Ball? Seems he could be an upgrade. Seems he played well in replacement of Ball.  I normally get the highlights and don't get to see any games but I liked when White was on on the court.

      Honestly, the guy does a TON of good research. His videos are always high quality and his insight is always stellar.  This video however changed my mind...dramatically about the draft.  Anyone who's seen my opinions knows Im a all in BPA guy, HOWEVER, this kind of changed my mind...Im now a BPA...at position of value dictated by the board.  A lot of words to say, weighted average is important. We all all know that having a good qb on a rookie contract is important, but what about a good edge...or reciever...or tackle?  THOSE things make a different and this opened my eyes to that.  With that said, not that I think we SHOULD go receiver in the first, HOWEVER, IT DOES MAKE SENSE.  If you have good young recievers coming in on rookie contracts, then you have more to build the rest of the roster at a lower cost.  If we were a team loaded at Receiver then things would be different, however, we only truly have 2 reliable WRs, so would another Receiver be a bad pick...I actually dont think so now based on value going forward.  Its just something to consider for everyone.

      Yeah, it's fool's gold. Darnold always had the tools. He just needed a tram with an elite D, a top 5 WR, and a Super Bowl MVP RB to carry him so he wouldn't be asked to press where he becomes a turnover machine. Darnold settled in once he was in a situation where he could just be a very talented game manager. People try to tell themselves Bryce can do that without realizing that Darnold still forces the D to respect the throws he can make that the coaches would rather he not attempt where as Bryce simply doesn't have the physical ability to force that respect opening up other opportunities. Like Parcells said leading up to the draft that based on his physical tool set "he better walk on water". What he was politely trying to say is that Bryce simply doesn't have an NFL physical tool set.
