There were definitely things to like. Then again there was still much of the same considering we never made it to the end zone and squandered many drives until the end. Folks talking up the Falcons defense are coping. They are a mediocre team at best in one of the worst divisions in the league. We need to carry this momentum into the matchup with the Packers. If we take another step back after this win the huddle will meltdown.

I think the Falcons defense is solid. There just aren’t many elite defenses in general outside of Dallas and maybe the Eagles/Ravens but they all are kind of streaky. Plus the weather conditions and  rivalry game kind of throws those statistical ratings out the window. It’s not like our offense crushed their defense anyway. We had 9 points. We just executed a solid GWD slowly and methodically down the field.

The Falcons are 10th in total defense per FoxSports. They are an opportunistic group. But they've given up 20 or more points eight times this season. I definitely would have felt better about the win if we had reached the end zone.

Moving on to our final two games the Packers are 22nd in total defense and the Bucs are 26th. There should be absolutely no excuse not to score a touchdown or two against each team. I don't know how the rest of ya'll feel but I'm not going to sit around rejoicing over field goals. Against that level of competition we better score.

I just like when we win but yeah touchdowns would make me feel a lot better. Especially if Mingo and Young are at least strong contributors to these scores as we need them to develop for next season. Man our bar is pretty low to just want a score against bottom tier defenses. If nothing else Chuba will probably get one. He would have have one last week if Tabor didn’t play for the FG (which I have no problem with).

We just can't put up consistent offensive performances at all. The one week we had 200 rushing yards Bryce Young finished with a 12.3 QBR and we were blown out.

Anywho before someone barrels in here and starts slinging around accusations I am very happy we defeated the Falcons. As it stands now we split with them we were swept by the Saints (barf) and we are hoping to split with the Bucs. Considering the state of our division and it's ranking amongst the rest of the league that's....ugly at best. But it will have to do for now.

All I want for Christmas is the Panthers offense to look competent to finish the season and not subject us to any more embarrassment. We are already in store for plenty of that once the offseason begins.

That's all I got. Good talk 🤜

Unless I’m not looking at his YouTube channel correctly (and it’s possible I can’t navigate that poo anymore) he hasn’t done Bryce in a while.

He does them every week.

He's saying not on Bryce, or at least not released on YT every week for Bryce. Last one appears to be Week 9.

He has more Bryce breakdowns available through his patreon: https://www.patreon.com/theqbschool

I think he has one for Bryce each week. No idea what is on them though since it's behind a paywall.

I would say folks downplaying multiple improved performances are coping. "Coping" is defined as "dealing effectively with something difficult." Being happy about a win is not, by definition, "coping," nor is saying a defense ranked top-10 isn't bad is "coping."

We scored 9 points, bud, and 3 of those were from a turnover on the Falcons 30 yard line.

Yeah the reality is we're averaging about 13-14 points a game with Bryce and his 5 y/a average. Purdy has almost 10 y/a for anyone trying to lump them into the same category

Bryce would (and any other starting QB) average 10 y/a with the best LT in football, the best RB in football, the best WR corp in football, and a top 5 D in football. Purdy is fools gold

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
