300k Fine for Tepper

The NFL was never going to be able to fine him enough to make it "hurt" financially. However, the personal embarrassment that he is now having to swallow due to this public temper tantrum, is hopefully what was needed to help bring about some true inner reflection. From here on out we could see a different David Tepper, one who learns to properly manage people, that allows the football people to make the football decisions, and sees the players as more than mere employees but rather assets that can help bring about true change within the organization moving forward...

on second thought, no, it's still gonna be a poo show.

We can't really tell much from the video. It's clear Tepper threw the drink, and he probably had an intended target. Did the drink actually hit anyone? We can't tell, and that's why you won't see an assault charge filed against Tepper. The main problem is that the person filming must own the cheapest phone on the market, so we're looking at well below 420p video quality.

Tepper has always had a certain level of contempt for fans of ordinary means. Who can forget his "basement dwellers" comment? I wouldn't mind at all if he had an awful personality so long as the team is competitive on Sunday. But this dude is a nightmare owner AND insufferable as a person. It doesn't get any worse than this unless they relocate the team and we don't get a new one.

Pretty much he just needs to string a few decent seasons together. We get to 9-8 or 10-7 people would turn sorta a new leaf and probably agree “he’s an ass but he’s our ass”.

You have to see the underlying narcissism in that "apology."  He admits to being wrong about not letting stadium security handle the problem, but I don't care what was said, I saw no threat to Tepper.  Fans talk smack--that is not a stadium security issue.  Tepper screamed "Fug" out loud and was caught on camera. then fires the head coach.  This time he is throwing a drink at fans.  The Wolf of Wall Street has become the Toddler of Mint Street, so it seems.

I know this is not a popular take on this subject but. I think Tepper is humiliated by his behavior, he acted like a child and the whole world including his wife and peers saw it. I do believe he wants to win and is frustrated by his pitiful results. Combine these 2 things and he’s hopefully at a point of self reflection that will bore some real change. Don’t give up.

I see your point and wish I could share in your optimism-i have had the same thoughts.  Until he takes his hands off the steering wheel, this franchise is headed for the iceberg.

Panthers are officially the heel in a game that more and more appears to have prearranged outcomes. The NFl carefully vetted the type of owner they wanted for the Panthers and Dave fit the bill. I truly think they love what’s going on with our team. Did Richardson irk them and this is payback?

The owners knew exactly what Dave would be like. The utter chaos he would bring.  They had to of known he was a complete head case with the time he spent with the Steelers. They knew that we as a franchise would be completely screwed if he took over as owner.

The only sign of hope, winning, of returning to some semblance of prideful panther football at the end of last season had to be quickly dismantled. Impugned.

we are getting played, plain and simple. The owners dropped a no-nothing egomaniac head case on us as our owner… and knew it. There is no way that our current state of affairs was not intentional.

Dave doesn’t want to win. He wants to be worshipped, it’s just that a winning football team is a prerequisite for that to occur… and no amount of money has been able to buy it for him.

Only a VERY serious sexual or racial allegation would budge the needle. Heck, he let the first black head coach of the panthers, who was loved, respected and WINNING go without even consideration… and where was the injustice there?

so yeah, no good vibes here. I guess I’ll have to keep rewatching 2003 and 2015 highlights.

The ‘screw you’ drink toss, symbolically, hit all of us in the face, only it was the other 31 owners who did it.
