Does Dan Morgan hire cause you to financially invest in the team (renew tickets)?

For me it’s a RESOUNDING NO

no merch

no PSL renewal

nothing

you don’t hire an extensive search firm to hire the guy who was part of drafting Bryce Young. This just tells me that the search firm and all that was window dressing, Tepper has not changed one bit

how can we as fans respond?

skip the March on Mint nonsense

just don’t spend money on the team, no merchandise, no tickets. Just watch the circus from home or watch red zone

With all due respect, the GM hire was never going to drive ticket sales.

The only “move” that would make people invest is bringing 2015 Cam back to Carolina in a Time Machine.

This team knows the only way it can officially bring people back into is winning. There is nothing flashy that can be done. Preferably I’d rather they keep that mindset the time being.

What if the extensive search firm told him Dan was the right man for the job?

Then all that firm did was take Tepper's money. There's no way anyone with a shred of common sense could look at the moves, roster, and record the Panthers have had since Morgan joined the FO and say yeah, he's the best guy, when he helped do all that.

He was probably the only real candidate. I doubt anyone else wanted to work with Tepper after talking to him. Made Dan the top candidate by default.

I'll renew my PSL's, but only because I buy them through my business and use them as such.  Also, if we host the Cowboys, I can recoup 1/2 of the entire season's cost right there.  Other than that, no, I will not spend a dime on this team.  I'll begrudgingly spend $$ to go see CLT FC play, but only if my son wants to go.  Luckily, he likes the Independence games just as much, so that's my preferred choice.

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
