Scott Fitterer genuinely had one of the worst tenures for a GM in NFL history, Rhule or no Rhule.

Luckily, we were able to sign his right hand man to steer us into the future. 🙄

Hopefully, Morgan will be to Fitterer what Wilks was to Rhule.

Mentioned this in a trade recap/analysis thread some time back:

Including trades, we used a grand total of 17 picks in 2 seasons/since the CMC & Anderson trades on 4 'maybes' and the rest are busts or off the team.

And that's also 17 picks turned into 9 players, results regardless, so we've just been bleeding capital without accruing anything to gamble on.  Just terrible.

We've been talking about this every day in nearly every topic created for months

There is not much to talk about when our season has been done for a while now. We need people like him who start threads to at least keep things going and flowing keeping others engaged where they don't just completely leave in the offseason until draft week then leave again until the regular season starts.

Did you know...

The Panthers are in the same position as the 1979 49ers were when no coach wanted to work for their ownership & they went with a 1 year NFL OC with NFL QB success including rehabbing the career of a #1 pick QB in Jim Plunkett (went on to win the SB) who the 49ers tossed away for a rookie QB 1 year prior.

Steve Spurrier (#3) & Jim Plunkett (#1) were their failed 1st round QB projects they traded away the franchise for to eventually go with Walsh to fix a struggling rookie Steve DeBerg going into his second season.

That's our hope. Now, Canales just needs to draft a 3rd/4th round QB to develop behind a struggling 2nd year QB he is tasked to resurrect. Trade Young after replacing him late in the 2025 season with our new Joe Montana.

Dynasty built! That's our hope during these dark times. Blueprint for success?

High hopes

We’ve had the fewest draft selections over the past 3-4 years.

Yep. Due to trades giving up more capital.

Most GM's practice keeping an even balance of capital, even in the event of trade ups.  For example, many big trades, you'll see the team giving away a top pick dish out a 6th or 7th (or two) to the one moving up.  We just had this myopic mindset and didn't bother trying to truly gain capital, only recoup at like two points with CMC and Robbie -- and didn't even play that hard of ball it seems.  Fitt is gone, hope Morgan is better with this and learned something from Schneider and Beane.

    • Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"
    • Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.
    • We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).
