BREAKING: Giants looking to trade for Brian Burns

Brian Burns actually could refuse to sign the tag, if I am not mistaken. They have to agree on a long term contract.  New york looking for someone to play opposite Thibideaux (Sp).   With the #6 pick, they can get a QB.

Burns is the only person who can stump this deal.  The Giants did not re-sign Barkley, letting him go to a division rival. Now that the news of this gets out, their fans will storm the castle if they dont make it happen.  They have the cap room (I just saw $38m--dont know how updated it is)

This is all completely moot

There is a 0% chance that either the Giants or Panthers are discussing any deal, let alone deep into negotiations, if the Giants and Burns haven't talked and come to a general agreement on a contract extension, as it would be a complete waste of everyone's time if that wasn't already done.

Scott Fitterer missed that boat with the Rams trade but hey we had all those cute memes the team put out like "In Fitt We Trust" and "Gettin' Fitty wit it" when they traded up to the first overall pick last year.

If you go back and look at our record, the Huddle is a bunch of dumbasses.  Present company excluded, of course.

Latest reports are saying they just started negotiations on the extension

Probably a good point--but something is holding this up.  If other teams are involved, it would also be a waste of everyone's time to have a contract worked out before a trade was in place--I assume that Burn's agent gave the Giants a ballpark figure, and the devil is in the details.  I dunno because nobody does.

You know, the more I think about it, I sort of LIKE being the worst NFL team years running and years coming. It's oddly comforting.

It's kinda like getting fired.

It sucks but then you think, "you know, I don't need to request any vacation days."

    • I fully expect them to pick up his 5th year , and they're waiting for him to put a full excellent consistent season of QB play in year 4 or 5. If that don't happen,  they'll eventually cut ties.  Here's to hoping he just goes on a team in 2026. The worst thing he could do is continue to see-saw us to around .500 records because it might be impossible to replace him at that point unless youre willing to do the veteran qb carousel poo we did from 2019 to 2023.
    • What do you think of Bryce Youngs career thus far? Are you excited about his progress or is it not enough for you? I included a poll of ranking his performance through 3 years thus far.  I personally think he's made some decent progress. Has had some high moments (last half of 2024, Rams game, ATL game in 2025)  but in my mind, those are still outweighed by the many more lowlights thus far (ex turnovers, missed throws, poor decisions)  It's a very mixed bag for me. He's done enough to get a 5th year option but by no means should we lock him in with a 50+ mil a year multi year deal. I want to see him play consistently well for a full year before that happens (yes, I'm still saying that going into year 4. That might be telling).  Just sucks when you see CJ Stroud, Jayden Daniel's, Caleb Williams almost immediately lighting poo up with their arm talent. Maybe Bryce is just an ultra slow burn. I don't know what to think anymore. Guess we're gonna be stuck with him for a whilr unless we end up being bad enough to earn a high pick next year. I doubted it lol. Overall Stats for his career:       ● 14 W - 30L (regular season)       ● 0-1 playoffs record        ● 61.4% completion, 8291 passing yards, 49 TDs, 30 INTs  Year 1:       ● 2 wins, 14 losses      ● 60% completion rate, 2877 passing yards, 11 TD to 10 INTs, 5.5 yards per attempted pass Year 2:        ● 4 wins , 8 losses        ● 60.9% completion rate,  2403 passing yards, 15 TD, 9 INTs,  6.3 yards per attempted pass  Year 3:        ● 8 Wins, 8 Losses         ● 63.6% competition rate, 3011 passing yards, 23 TDs to 11 INTs  Playoffs         ● 1 game in year 3 ( 0 - 1 in playoffs)         ● 21/40 (52.5% completion rate), 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
